It’s a Sketchy Challenge

Category

Hello everyone!ย  Today is my turn to share some scrap happiness with you.ย  As usual, the weather was cold and snowy last weekend, so I sat down with the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for February and came up with this layout: Here is Sue Sykes’ February 2015 sketch: This is the first winter in a very, very long time….since my kids were little and playing outdoors a lot…that I have gone outside.ย  And it’s all because of our pup Finn, who is fanatical about snow and is always too hot inside.ย  Finn takes me on walks at least twice a day, every single day.ย  I still can’t believe it myself!ย I’m even enjoying it. I just LOVE the colours in this year’s winter collection from BoBunny.ย  Altitude has fabulous patterns and stickers! I cut the title from a piece of patterned paper and made it into a banner: My journaling is…

Hello everyone! Kim Gowdy here!!!! It’s January and I’m already behind! Actually I was late getting my November 2014 Sketchy Challenged done, so really THAT doesn’t count! No worries I’ll get behind in 2015 too! My point is…it doesn’t matter! Scrapbooking is meant to be fun. It’s my time to escape the routine and sometimes chaosย of daily life. Lucky for you, we keep our sketches in an online gallery that is ALWAYS available for you to browse and use! Just because we put a date on it, certainly doesn’t mean you need to create with it at that time! …so here I am to reveal my layout for November’s sketch. Our sketches are designed by the talented Sue Sykes. Play with them and share how they have inspired you! Remember…our Sketchy Gallery is open 24/7! Happy Sunday everyone!

by Connie Nichol Hereโ€™s my take on the September 2014 sketch from Canadian Scrapbookerโ€™s Itโ€™s a Sketchy Challenge. Yes, there`s pink on here and it`s a boy layout. I used a great paper stack from DCWV, Vintage Collector and two of the supporting matching smaller stacks. I love the variety of colours and patterns in this stack. Hereโ€™s the September sketch. I actually followed it pretty closely this time around.ย  Instead of eight squares, I put in eight paper bottle caps punched from a sheet of the DCWV paper.ย  I found that a 1 ยฝโ€ scallop punch was the perfect size and added a bottle cap like edge. I also cut the other embellishments out of the paper stacks and used my favourite brown Clearsnap Fluid Chalk ink, stylus and white foam tip for edging and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3Lย 3D Foam Squaresย to add a little dimension. These little touches…

Kim here to sneak in my take on October’s sketch, designed by Sue Sykes! A fun sketch to work with; oneย that I can see using again! Great way to add multiple photos or use up many of those pocket page style kits! I used LOTS of Stampin’ Up! goodness on this page! Paper is from the Flowerpot Designer Series and I used their new Sizzix Dies: Project Life & Word Bubbles. Other Stampin’ Up! products used were the buttons, stamps, ink & the pink, ruffled ribbon! My titles were cut usingย  purchased SVG files from Wilna Furstenberg’s site and the wooden banner is from Studio Calico. Everything played together well to create this fun page celebrating a road trip to Phoenix with great friends! Here is the sketchย I based my layout on. Join in our monthly challenge! CLICK HERE!

Hi Everyone…or should I say, “Happy Halloween!” It’s Kelly here to share a layout. Do you have you have your costumes ready and spooky dรฉcor around the house?ย  I know I have some cobwebs here and there!ย ha ha ha Here isย a Halloween layout I designed using Simple Stories’ fun “Frankie and Friends” collection, along with someย awesome Sizzixย dies. I based my design on Sue Sykes’ October Sketch. Have you been playing with her sketches and uploading your layouts to our Sketchy gallery? Here are the three Sizzix dies I used: I die cut them from American Crafts glitter paper… love the sparkle! Beacon Adhesives is great for adhering these pieces: I bent the bat wings for added dimension and just glued their heads down. With white and black markers, I added faux stitching around the title and other cut paper elements. It’s never too late to create a layout based on…
