Hello! Kim here with a layout I worked on after Christmas. I used our January Sketchy Challenge, designed by Kelly Klapstein. It was a great jumping point to get back in the groove after a creative hiatus over the holidays. For my projects I used the Bo Bunny βWhiteoutβ Collection along with elements from the co-ordinating Ephemera pack available with the collection. It was all part of a monthly kit I purchase from Scrap Shotz out of Calgary. I laughed when I saw Kellyβs layoutβ¦she used the same collection! I promise this was by coincidence [great minds think alikeβ¦] Here is a quick detail shot of some of the yumminess found in this collectionβ¦a little glitter for winter layouts is perfect! The word stickers are older Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers that never go out of style. For my journalling I used a Micron Pigment Marker by Sakura. These markers come…
Today we are featuringΒ Jayme Loge’sΒ take on our monthly sketch challenge. SUPPPLIES: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, BasicGrey patterned paper, May Arts ribbon, Pageframes acrylic snowflake, Simple Stories sticker. Tombow Xtreme adhesives. Scraps of Info – “I save leftover bits of paper and embellishments for the purpose of making cards, especially if I only need one at a time. This card was made with some real treasures as I think the BasicGrey paper line (Kioshi) is at least 5 years old! It was created to be an Easter/Spring line, but I thought the crisp cool colours worked for a wintry feel.” Jayme Loge JaymeΒ based her card on our monthly sketchy challenge! Kim Gowdy here on the blog today, happily sharing my layout inspired by the August Sketchy Challenge. I have been struggling to find time in my craft room these past months…but stay focused to get ALL the sketches completed! The August sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein was very graphic. I swayed from that aspect of the design but otherwise kept pretty true to it. My layout is pretty simple using papers, stickers and ephemera from Fancy Pant’s “ME-OLOGY” collection. The paw print, cut behind the pictures, was done on my Cricut Explore using Close To My Heart’s Artistry cartridge. I also used Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L and the little wood veneer dogs were from Studio Calico. By the way; the topic of my layout…TRUE STORY! Go forth and scrapbookΒ withΒ our sketches. They are always available in our Sketchy Gallery. On time or late…we LOVE to see what you share.
Today on our blog we welcome Bev Code, a talented paper crafter who is going to share her wonderful designs that are all based on our September Sketchy Challenge. Hi, I am Bev Code, and I am super excited to be a Guest Designer on the Canadian Scrapbooker Blog. I was new to online scrapping since April 2009. There were so many amazing sites that were my learning curve to this amazing world of scrapbooking. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my heart’s content.Β I love scrapbooking along with fun things it entails like online friends, forums and Facebook. All these provide the knowledge and inspiration used when creating. The learning process has been interesting, and along the way I have been fortunate enough to join many design teams which feed my passion for the craft, and it allows…
Hi Everyone!Β It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share my layout based on the September Sketchy Challenge. Here is my sketch: I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft collection “Botanica.” Actually, these products were in my September kit from ScrapShotz. With this Kaisercraft stamp set and Β “Avocado” ink, I added a subtle pattern of leaves to the solid green paper layers. When you stamp several times or ‘values’ without reloading with ink, you can create your own patterned paper (learned from the great ink queen herself, Cathie Allan!) The leaves are cut with my Brother ScanNCut machine After cutting them from mixed media paper, I watercoloured them with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I also used my Tombow pens for hand letteringΒ my title “Hello.” Here is a video on my YouTube channel that shows how I created the watercolour leaves. https://youtu.be/Yhj_8jnlzHM I would love to see what you create with my…
Summers in Canada are short! As such, we Canadians pack as much as we can into two or three months, making them very busy! That explains why I am sharing my July sketch in August! Enough said! July’s sketch was a simple grid, easy to work with. There really is so much you can do with this type of sketch, it’s a jumping board to creative fun! I chose to offset my grid and use three pictures! I was pleased with the end results. My four-legged BellaΒ is often a willing subject for scrapbook pages, not so much for laying on the ground while camping! This layout came easily together using the Simple Stories – Life Documented collection And I stuck everything down using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L This sketch designed by Sue Sykes, was her last for us in the Sketchy Challenges. She has provided us with…
