All the layouts and projects that were published in the Summer 2010 issue went in the mail today back home to their owners! Watch your mailboxes over the next two weeks. Depending on where you live in Canada – it will arrive shortly. The Summer issue of CS is on schedule – It will begin shipping around the end of the month of May – so that will come shortly after your layouts arrive! Hoooray! I took some pictures of the photo shoot Katharina and I had with Allison Ornther a few weeks ago! It is a behind the scenes look 🙂 We started here and took a ton of fun shots…including this one of the two of us being silly:) Next we moved to another location…….. Here Allison is taking some gorgeous shots of Katharina! Then…she took some of me….it looked like this….. and it turned into this…….. As you can see…you never get to see my BUTT!!!! I do actually have one…..its just a BIG secret I like to keep! Once again – thank you Allison! Off I go to make a Spring Snowman!
This is where I spend most of my days! This is the computer station on my desk and were I spend most of my time working! Today I was going through final edits with Jennifer before she sends the Summer issue to our printer in Winnipeg. I have both a working copy and a digital pdf of the magazine on the go while I edit. Although I love looking on the screen – I still am a hard copy kinda gal! Nothing beats print quality! Here you can see a surprise that you will find in the Summer issue – a new section for recipes! If you have a favourite recipe – scrapbook it and send it to us @ submissions@canadianscrapbooker.ca Eating and Scrapbooking – well that is heaven for me!
The Summer issue has officially gone for it’s final copy edit to our amazing copy editor Frances Purslow. She does such an awesome job – thank you Frances! Lori Mancini designed the cover layout for us using an awesome photo from Tracey Kendall. Thank you so much ladies for sharing your talent with us! I can hardly wait to lay in the green grass by the beach!!! How about you guys! BRING ON SUMMER I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have an awesome day everyone.
Connie Nichol has been with Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine since the very beginning. I still remember sitting in my basement having coffee and planning each of the sections! Seems like just yesturday Not only is Connie an absolute gem to work with – through the years she has become a forever friend! Thank you Connie for everything! I love this photo of Connie and her two gorgeous little boys! I hope you are smiling this big all day today as you celebrate your 25th 😉 birthday!
Tomorrow I am heading to Calgary for a photo shoot with my partner in crime Katharina. Every once and awhile we need to update our photos for various media type things. Really and truly NOT one of my favourite things to do – I actually dread it!!!!! But it needs to be done. This gorgeous lady – Allison Orthner – Makes taking my photo much less painful! Allison is so creative and personable that she can even get a good photo of me – and that is challenge!!!!!!! If you ever have the opportunity to take a photography class with Allison – please do so. She really takes the complicated stuff right out of it and will have you taking awesome photos in no time at all. Wish me luck everyone!
A few days ago we shot the Summer 2010 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. This is really one of many FUN elements of my job! We take almost every photo that you see in the magazine right here in Brian Harder’s Studio in Calgary, Alberta. Here Brian is checking out the photo he just took on the computer screen to make sure it is FABULOSA – and it wasn’t!!! It took us about 1 hour to get the shot we were looking for! Katharina is our very talented HAND MODEL! All the hands in our magazine belong to her! Aren’t they just perfect!!!! Next time you see her be sure to let her know you love her hands!!! Thanks Katharina!!!! That is me! Probably one of the most time consuming jobs I have is getting ready for the photo shoot. All the projects, layouts, photos etc that are used in the magazine…
Yesturday I spent the day in Calgary with Katharina getting a pile of magazine stuff done. Katharina and I both feel very fortunate that our offices are in our homes! Doing what we love and doing it in the comforts of our own environment is absolutely incredible. WE are very grateful! The day was over the top productive! Just a few shots of what we did! Editing our Web Show with the very cool Shawna! She is the amazing lady who puts together all the slices, makes the music work, fades in and fades out….and sooooooooooooo much more! We had a visit from Christy Riopel – she is the newest addition to our CS team! You will start seeing a regular Colour Corner column from Christy starting in the Fall 2010 issue.
