Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim gowdy here today! Just a quick blog post sharing my take on the May Sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein. I used the awesome Coffee Talk collection from Heartfelt Creations to pull my layout together. I loved this collection form the first time I saw it, especially the stamps and dies! As always, I LOVE playing with these sketches…especially when I am in a creative funk! Other products used to complete my page: twine from May Arts Ribbon, India Ink from Clearsnap, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, older Stampin’ Up felt flowers & brads and unknown vellum. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Be sure to find your way to our Sketchy Gallery to see lots more inspiration from this month’s sketch and all previous months. Happy Mother’s Day!  We hope you have time this weekend to do take some photos, do some scrapbooking and record those wonderful family memories. The May sketch is up in our Sketchy Gallery ready to inspire you! I was lucky enough to spend some time scrapbooking on National Scrapbook Day and designed 2 layouts based on this sketch.  The first one features the Simple Stories “Heart” collection. I did a little brush lettering with the Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip brush pen to add “you have my” to the title. For the second layout, I rotated the sketch a quarter turn clockwise and used Fancy Pants Designs “Me-Ology” collection.  I’m trying to scrapbook more photos of myself this year, and the ME-ology line is perfect! I used the Tombow Monotwin to doodle on the layout and add some interest with black lines.  The Monotwin has 2 tips of different sizes…

Hey everyone…Kim here, sharing my take on our April Sketch.  This month’s sketch is a very basic, graphic design that could be used over and over…and look different every time! I love that! My four square grid is a bit “lost” in the background, but if you look you’ll see it! I used products from Heartfelt Creation’s collection, “Italiana Riviera”. These papers, stamps and dies are stunning! They were so fun to play with. Check out this detail shot to see the layers. Some of the layers were made with the stamp, dies and Clearsnap Chalk inks. The other layers were created by “fussy” cutting from a second sheet of paper and layering on top of the same image using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares.  Heartfelt Creation’s Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit was used to add dimension to my cuts. I was so pleased with how the details looked on…

Hello! Kim here, just logging in to share my take on this month’s Sketchy Challenge! This month, for the most part, I stayed true to Kelly’s sketch. As always, a sketch is a fun place to start creating from…especially if your mojo is on hiatus. I pulled out my “A Year to Remember” collection from Creative Memories, and had fun going through the many different embellishments to find the ones that I felt worked best. I really like the colour palette of this collection, and look forward to pulling it out again. Here’s a detail shot of the banners. I cut between each banner, so I could add some texture and movement to it. I also curled and distressed the edge of some of my paper…I love texture and layers, but still need my pages to be flat enough to fit in my albums. Another layer I have added but…

Hi everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share my layout based on our March Sketchy challenge. Here is the sketch: I used the gorgeous paper collection called “Soiree” by BoBunny. These papers are perfect for my daughter’s photo because she adores all things vintage and retro. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create the title, including the hand lettered ‘Hello,’  which is a cut file I designed myself. I also outlined the “Sweet Sixteen” with a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen. This dimensional flower with leaves is from the ScanNCut machine library of images. And the banner is an Impression Obsession stamp that was scanned and cut with the ScanNCut also…. no fussy cutting! I coloured the banners with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Did you know the ScanNCut also has the ability to draw designs?  I used the drawing pens feature for the journaling. That little brown gingham…

Hello again! It’s Kim here with my take on the February Sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein. I was inspired to rotate the sketch as shown and from there just started to play until I felt I was done! I love how it turned out, though my husband doesn’t see any similarity to the sketch…LOL! The papers and embellishments are from Bo Bunny’s Believe collection. I was hesitant at first to get this collection of papers, as I wasn’t sure if the theme would work for my style of scrapbooking.  Once I opened up the papers, stickers and die cuts I was pleased to find LOTS that I was comfortable working with…I love the colours and whimsy so much. The products that don’t “work” for me will easily be altered and adapted for my needs. So many inspirational sayings and thoughts, I can’t wait to play with this paper collection again. I…

Good day Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Loge here today with a few layouts from my craft table. I wanted to play with a few simple supplies and try to create a couple of layouts with them. I started with a few sheets of We R Memory Keepers patterned paper and coordinating sticker set, a few sheets of Bazzill cardstock and an American Crafts alphabet set. Here’s what I did with them: First, I started off using the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketch from this month’s “Let’s Get Sketchy” challenge – CLICK HERE to download your take on this sketch! I added the heart to the background with some ‘vintage’ Heidi Swapp masks and Inca Gold paste. I changed the orientation of the sketch somewhat and used a special old photo taken on a trip to Mexico in 2000. Back then, film cameras were still in use and disposable panoramic cameras were all…
