Hello everyone! Jayme Loge here today! For my day job, I work in a school as an education assistant. In previous years, my assignment has been to provide literacy support to several classes. This meant working with several teachers and a rotating group of kids. Due to student needs, my assignment this past year has been in one classroom. It was a wonderful experience to work closely with one teacher and student group. I decided to get the kids together to work on a special end of the year gift for the teacher. They ended up creating this wonderful canvas! Supplies Used: Canvas- Michaels 16×20 Stencils- Donna Downey (Keyhole Splatter, Bubbles, Halftone Dots); Tim Holtz (Speckles, Lace) Paint- Ranger Dylusions Stamps- Frog’s Whiskers Ink Ink- Clearsnap We worked for weeks in a secret location, kids giving up their recess time in turn so everyone got a chance to contribute. The…

Today on the blog we welcome Katelyn Grosart Hi Everyone! I’m Katelyn Grosart and I live in beautiful Calgary, Alberta with my boyfriend of 6 years.  I’ve spent the last 7 years in the papercrafting world  creating cards, mixed media pages, scrapbook layouts, mini albums and altered items. In my spare time when I’m not crafting I like to read a good book and when the weather is nice, you’ll often find me outside taking advantage of the beautiful Canadian weather. I’m excited to be a guest blogger today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The wonderful ladies at the magazine asked if I wanted to guest blog for them and I couldn’t pass up this amazing opportunity.  With summer right around the corner I thought that I would share with you how to create your own under the sea themed reverse canvas featuring Graphic 45’s “Voyage Beneath the Sea”…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Logehere with a fun post inspired by Kerry Engel’s ‘Crazy Bird’ sign. I have been enjoying these little birds on all sorts of things, but when I saw Kerry’s sign and the quote she used, I knew I had to create one of my own. I built mine on a 8.5×11 canvas. After covering the canvas with gesso and adding some ‘bumps’ with texture paste through a stencil, I covered the background with some delicious Dylusions paints from Ranger. I love! love! love! how bright and vibrant the colours are. Once the paint was dry I sprinkled some darker Nuance powders from Magenta over top and spritzed it with water. I rubbed a little bit of brown Dylusions paint around the edges, applying it with a baby wipe. I set the canvas aside to dry and stamped my Crazy Birds (Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous) and Paris background…

Check it out, Nicole Wright  here with a promise of spring for Tuesday with the Team!  I wanted to create a lot of texture so why not stamp on canvas.  I created this 5×5 card using a few of my favorite Sizzix dies including the Birch Thinlit die. I used various Sizzix dies to create the foliage including Tattered Pinecone, Layered Leaf and Tattered Leaves. I love inking up these filigree metal leaf charms from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.  Ranger’s Peeled Paint Distress Paint is perfect for distressing these metal charms. I created my own leaves with watercolor paper and an assortment of Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron. I inked the leaves  with Ranger Distress Inks peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron right onto the canvas. The Birch die is cut onto watercolour paper where I inked and blotted with Ranger Distress Inks…

Today on our blog we welcome Stephanie Hart, an artistic crafter from the East coast. Hi Everyone! My name is Stephanie Hart and I live just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia with my wonderful husband, two amazing step sons and six cats! Yes, you read that correctly! Six! I prefer the term “Creative Cat Lady”, and this is explains why I chose the domain for my personal blog: www.thecreativecatlady.com I’ve been scrapbooking since 2008, and I fell pretty hard for the hobby. Scrapbooking is my main love, but I also like to make jewelry (beading and silver Metal Clay), polymer Clay, pet photography, watercolors and mixed media. Some of my Polymer Clay embellishments have even been featured on the cover of Canadian Scrapbooker (Fall 2009), and I will always remember the moment when I spotted one of my little mushrooms on the main display at the Chapters Books Store. Ever…

A huge hello to everyone out there in the paper crafting world! I was absolutely delighted to be invited as a guest blogger, featuring Magenta Style products. A little about me: I live in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, a mom of 20 yr old twins (girl & boy), married for nearly 23 years, a Registered Nurse going on 29 years and yes, I am addicted to anything and everything in the paper crafting world! I’ve been crafty throughout my entire life in one way or another but was not introduced to scrapbooking until 2006. It took one home party to get me craving for more. Scrapbooking turned into card making which turned into mix media, home décor, etc, etc. I am not a routine person, and I tend to get bored easily so paper crafting for me is the PERFECT right brain activity. The moment I find myself “bored” I switch…
