Today on our blog we welcome Bev Code, a talented paper crafter who is going to share her wonderful designs that are all based on our September Sketchy Challenge. Hi, I am Bev Code, and I am super excited to be a Guest Designer on the Canadian Scrapbooker Blog. I was new to online scrapping since April 2009. There were so many amazing sites that were my learning curve to this amazing world of scrapbooking. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my heart’s content. I love scrapbooking along with fun things it entails like online friends, forums and Facebook. All these provide the knowledge and inspiration used when creating. The learning process has been interesting, and along the way I have been fortunate enough to join many design teams which feed my passion for the craft, and it allows…

Today we have Kerry Engel as our Guest Blogger, and she is sharing how she is using up her stash by making something new with something old! I have a confession. I find card making stressful. I’m a scrapbooker. I marvel at the beautiful cards that card-makers create. The meticulous stamping, perfect embossing and amazing colouring… I have trouble thinking without a photograph and yet, I still make cards. Mostly to use up my stash because …I have stash-guilt. I got on a card-roll earlier this summer when my daughter came downstairs and declared, “We are out of cards!” Buying cards just feels wrong when I can make them so I tend to go on a card-making-bender each summer. This year, my card-making-bender was made simpler by the addition of the Core’dinations ColorCore Polka Dot Pop card package. I need to confess two things. I love Kraft coloured paper and…
Kim here for a quick post featuring a really FUN die set from Sizzix. It’s their triple, square, flip-it cards die! This is such a great way to make quick, EASY cards that look like you have spent lots of time on! Perfect for any occasion, I think the look can be endless! The set comes with lots of pieces to mix up the look and mat the cards. It is brilliantly simple! All you have to do is think up what papers and embellishments to use! I chose to use 6×6 paper pads from Forever In Time. They were easy to mix and match! Here is the first of three cards I’m sharing, a good any occasion card. I used these fun paper butterflies from Forever In Time! I have come to love them! The next card is a simple birthday card. Look…more of those butterflies! The inside…
Hello everyone! Karen Ellis here! I hope you summer has started on the right foot and you are having a fun and fabulous time with the ones you love — a fun, creative time, of course! I love the summer. I’m sure it’s psychological but I tend to be a little more “relaxed”, find myself noticing the small things and revelling in the simplest of pleasures. I also tend to be a little more adventurous… not just the type of adventurous that would find me on the beach in a swimsuit – the creative kind – taking the time to experiment with my supplies and discovering something new about them. That’s what happened recently to me — I played with a product that’s been in my stash for years that I haven’t had the notion to pull out again until now – Ranger’s Alcohol Inks. I was inspired by a post by…

By Connie Nichol with Fancy Pants Designs, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive Supplies: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, stickers and wood title, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive. I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting Moments line released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites. I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it. Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia. When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!! I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…
