Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today. I thought for December I would change things up a bit and design a card sketch for the Sketchy Challenge, hoping that everyone would enjoy making Christmas cards. Here is my card: I used Creative Memories papers, Border Punch System and pen. With the leftover confetti bits from the border punch, I added them as ‘snowball’ embellishments. I used the Creative Memories marker to doodle on the 3 white triangle trees and to write my sentiment “let it snow.” Here are some samples of more cards that my friends made last weekend using the sketch: As you can see, the creative possibilities for this card sketch are limitless! Today we have Kerry Engel as our Guest Blogger, and she is sharing how she is using up her stash by making something new with something old! I have a confession. I find card making stressful. I’m a scrapbooker. I marvel at the beautiful cards that card-makers create. The meticulous stamping, perfect embossing and amazing colouring… I have trouble thinking without a photograph and yet, I still make cards. Mostly to use up my stash because …I have stash-guilt. I got on a card-roll earlier this summer when my daughter came downstairs and declared, “We are out of cards!” Buying cards just feels wrong when I can make them so I tend to go on a card-making-bender each summer. Kim here for a quick post featuring a really FUN die set from Sizzix. It’s their triple, square, flip-it cards die! This is such a great way to make quick, EASY cards that look like you have spent lots of time on! Perfect for any occasion, I think the look can be endless! The set comes with lots of pieces to mix up the look and mat the cards. It is brilliantly simple! All you have to do is think up what papers and embellishments to use! I love the summer. I’m sure it’s psychological but I tend to be a little more “relaxed”, find myself noticing the small things and revelling in the simplest of pleasures.
