Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The β€œHappy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card, try one of our…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Winter has definitely hit the west coast of Canada this week and we even ended up with a white Christmas. With the cold weather here, I decided to create a winter note card . For my note card, I’ve used a variety of products from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L as well as a few products from Ranger Ink, to create this fabulous Warmest Wishes winter note card. To start, cut a piece of Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 3 3/4” x 3 3/4”. Using a blending tool with foam as well as Broken China Distress Ink and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink from Ranger Ink, blend the inks over the entire surface of the cardstock. With the ink dry, dab a bit of Brushed Pewter Distress…

Deck the Halls with Christmas Sweaters by Cathy Caines The holiday season is upon us and I am in full swing. I am so ready for the magic of Christmas and all the simple joys it brings as I enjoy the wonder of the season through the eyes of my children Jane (7) and Jack (5). I am wishing you and your families the very best this holiday season – from my family to yours. About a month ago Stampin’ Up! released their new line of alcohol markers called Stampin’ Blends. Ever since the release, I have been coloring just about everything. However, the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Sweaters stamp set is by far my favourite. The markers seem to bring the sweaters to life. Before making any projects, I coloured several of the images while catching up on The Americans TV show. Once I found myself back in my craft room,…

Hello everyone! Kim here with a spotlight on Echo Park Paper Co.! I love being able to share my love of great companies with you here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s blog! Let’s do this! What you may not know is that Echo Park was founded in 2010. I was a bit surprised to learn that they are still a relatively new company, I feel that they have been around forever! That is a sign that they are doing it right! It’s a sign that they are providing quality products year after year and staying on top of the industry trends! Echo Park’s goal is simple – create easy to use crafting products while incorporating fun designs and bright colours! NAILED IT!!! Although this fun company started out creating papers, they have quickly expanded to albums, dies, stamps and stencils. There current catalogue features over 2000 products! I recently found…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans – Katelyn Grosart here today! I hope that you’re having a fabulous Summer so far. Dream Card Using the Serendipity Collection from BoBunny, some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs as well as a few products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create my Dream card. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I show you how to recreate this card in the comforts of your own home. Building the Card From the Serendipity paper by BoBunny, cut a piece that measures 4 1/4” x 6 1/4”. Using the 3” Stitched Rectangle die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, cut a stitched rectangle from the same piece of patterned paper. Distress the edges of both pieces of papers using an edge distressor. Ink the edges of the patterned paper pieces using a blending with foam and Vintage…

Hello everyone – Vicki Wizniuk here! Today I am sharing a few cards I created using the new Prickly Pear papers from Close to My Heart! I love the fresh and funky colour palette in this pack. For my first card, I paired the Prickly Pear papers with the Prickly Pear Cardmaking stamp set.Β  I love that these new stamp sets have matching Thin Cuts dies, making creating even that much easier! To add colour the stamped and die-cut cactus, I used my inks and small waterbrush to simply paint the colours on. Tip:Β  I like to use Black Memento ink to stamp the image, as it dries quickly and it doesn’t β€œbleed” when I use my waterbrush to add the colours. I added a few sequins from the Prickly Pear Sequins pack.Β  I love how easily you can combine everything just by going by the name of the product…

HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the β€œwee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend β€œsome” of our β€œcrafting time” in our gardens and on our deck. Β Β I used totally β€œdoable” stamping techniques toΒ  create a fun, shape card that β€œwanted to be a slider card”. Β The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color.Β  Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…
