If you are looking for a product that you can use in β€œassorted ways” –Β a product you can stamp with, emboss with, do resist techniques, use to add color to an image with instead of markers, use with stencils and more – a product that you can happily create with, that is the most lightfast of all the stamping mediums out there and allows you to work from light color to dark color and back to light again. By now I am guessing you know I am referring to pigment ink. It tends to be my β€œgo to medium” because it is simply so versatile AND then instead of buying more & more & more product I can happily buy more stamps and more stencils (yes, I may have a few of these) to entertain my β€œcreative urges”. Lately I have been using my pigment ink to create watercolor looks.…

β€œTechnique Taster’s” are a quick fun class that Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine offers at different events across the country. In 20 minutes we like toshare with you some of our very favourite ideas, tools, toys, stamps, ink, paint and more. The Technique Taster’s may be short in time but they areβ€œtall” in inspiration. Β For my part in the Technique Taster at Scrapfest in Kitchener (GOING ON RIGHT NOW) we will be creating one of these tags with in the Canadian Scrapbooker booth. Β  Β  Β I know we will have tons of fun as we take Canadian Scrapbooker β€œwhite Super Stock” tag and turn it into a β€œtag to remember”, using the Cathie Allan, Position-It, pigment ink, masking and smearing techniques that are easy and fun. Those of you who have stamped β€œa while” and those of you who are just beginning to explore the β€œfun ink filled” world of stamping will…

PRETTY IN ANY COLOUR, INSIDE & OUT. It is an exciting time in and around my house & life. So many things are changing and growing and one of those β€œthings” is not a β€œthing” it is my wonderful, grandlovely girl, Rianne. She has decided she should become 18 years of age and although I have strived to try to get her to β€œgrow up slower” she simply, did not. I cannot believe that this β€œvery special birthday” of hers got here as quickly as it did. I thought I would share with you β€œpart of her card” that I am preparing for this very special day. It is an 8X8 card, format because I know that the card will be able to be separated into individual 8X8 panels and then stored in an 8X8 album for her to enjoy until she is 98. I am using pigment ink to…

JUST KEEPING IT β€œSCARILY” SIMPLE AND HANDSOME TOO! It’s Halloween and time for trick or treating.Β  Therefore, I decided toΒ  β€œtreat” myself by creating this fun Halloween card and then using the same basic techniques, supplies and stampsΒ  (okay, so I changed one, lol), I then treated myself a second time to this wonderful scrapbook page that bears the photo of my β€œgrandhandsomeson” Liam. Β  I kept it basic, all the inking techniques are simple and truly easy to learn and I know everyone can do them. If you have Volume #6 of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics and/or you follow my articles in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, you probably recognize the techniques I used. Basically I smeared Β my way to a great background using colors from the Provence, petal point from Clearsnap and this great brick background from the fine folks at Magenta. I used the same background for both the card…

Everyday Memories I NEED For My Lifetime! by Cathie Allan I LOVE INK …..Β  I LOVE INK .. .I β€œsimply” LOVE INK! And, YES pigment ink is one of my favorite types of ink. β€œWhy?” you ask. Beyond the fact that it is the most lightfast, most archival ink on the market … it is just so darn versatile. I can use it in so many applications that the variety of techniques that I am able to accomplish using pigment ink seems virtually endless. Do I use it for β€œsimple” stamping … yes. Do I use if for embossing …. Yes. Do I use it when I want colors to blend seamlessly … oh, yes! Do I use it for stenciling … uh, huh. Do I use it for resist … abso stamping lutely. Can I turn it’s ability for staying wet longer into a β€œsmear your art…

Quick Note Cards Brought to you by Magenta Rubber Stamps, White Embossing Powder & Ink … lovely, lovely Clearsnap pigment Ink. by Cathie Allan Yes, I know … the word β€œquick” and β€œCathie inspired ideas” are not two things you usually see together BUT what you don’t know is I do a lot of β€œquick stamping techniques”, what I don’t usually do is put them in a blog post or put them in my magazine articles. Why … simply cause I love to give you β€œmore” for your stamping buck when you take a class from me or when you execute one of my projects that I publish.Β  I actually love making cards and here I have made β€œnotecards” that literally take me less than 10 minutes from start to finish.Β  One of my fav’s is to simply stamp an image in β€œfrost white” pigment ink and emboss with white…
