HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the “wee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend “some” of our “crafting time” in our gardens and on our deck. I used totally “doable” stamping techniques to create a fun, shape card that “wanted to be a slider card”. The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color. Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…

Tuesday with the Team – The Cathie Allan Position-it 2!

YES …. my Cathie Allan Position-it has had an upgrade. I have loved my Position-it for many years. Loved that it was two tools in one. It was a tool that worked as a positioner, allowing you to place images “exactly” where you wanted them on your project AND allowed you to stamp an image, over and over and over again in exactly the same place thus opening up endless possibilities with my favourite art tools, my rubber stamps. Loved that it works on ALL sizes of paper. Loved that it worked with wood mounted rubber stamps, cling rubber stamps AND clear rubber stamps. Sounds amazing right … YES it was and YES …. it still IS but now …. it allows me to do even more. In essence … it simply makes stamping easier and even more “funner” (yes, I know that is not a word (yet) I like…

A Happy Valentines Day Stamp Story – by Cathie Allan

Once upon a time there was a beautiful stamp that cried out to be used on a project or “6” J. This “beautiful stamp” came from Impression Obsession and was one of their new releases at “CREATIVATION” which was held in Phoenix in January. This stamp, part of a “geranium series” from Impression Obsession decided to go home with Cathie and she set to work creating “something”. Not really knowing what the project would become, Cathie set about simply altering a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock with her new, stamp and the Poinsettia pigment petal point from Clearsnap. Even though the name of this particular stamp pad “screamed Christmas”, Cathie looked past it and simply saw it also was a great combination of colors for a geranium image. Christmas Stair Art with Cathie Allan

Cathie Allan here. I just wanted to share a little of my “Christmas Stair Art” with you. I have been creating “Stair Art” with my rubber stamps for many years. I started creating these on 6X6 blocks of wood. I would use my stamps and acrylic paint to create them and I place them in the corners of my stairs. These have always made me smile. Last year I started creating them with Superstock, which I fortify and now they are “so much faster” to create. No prepping of the wood. No waiting for sealer to dry and they look AWESOME. I am sharing a couple of the “older, on the wooden block” ones that I made in previous years (if you look real close you can see that these were done in 1997)and the one that I created this year. “Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss” ideas for Christmas. Hello everyone – Cathie Allan here! One of my classes this year is a wonderful, flexible class called “Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss”. To achieve the watercolor look for this project we did not even use water. The result was a page and a tag/card that did not warp or heave and we did not have to use a bucket of mediums to create it. I love using my mediums in unique ways, allowing them to multitask for me and mimic other products. The projects that we complete in the class looked like this …. A wonderful masculine page and great “guy” card.
