Hi everyone! It’s Kelly here, feeling a bit panicked now that Christmas is quickly approaching. I always make a handful of cards at this time of year for those special people in my life (and when you receive one, I guess you will now know you’re ‘special’) Since I am totally obsessed with lettering and watercolors, I thought I would combine the two for my card. This is an easy no-fail design that anyone can replicate. The new Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pens distributed by Canuck Crafts should be on your wish list. They come in gorgeous colour sets and are water-based AND have glitter! How perfect for a Christmas card! I actually used a set called “Winter Warmers” with the red, blue and green colours, plus a black Sparkle pen for the hanging strings and writing “Be Merry.” The paper that works beautifully for this technique is the Spectrum Aqua…
Graphic 45 is known for their unique vintage style, with bold deco patterns. You might think that you could only use vintage photos to create heritage layouts, but that is just not true. Today I am sharing a layout that I created using 2 recent photos of our daughter Zoe. This collection is beautiful and can be for any type of photo you choose. Zoe has just graduated high school and is heading to university in Montreal in the fall. Where has the time gone? These photos, taken by a a photographer friend of hers, show more than ever just how grown up, beautiful and independent she has become. We are so proud of her. This collection from Graphic 45 suits that sentiment perfectly. Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a heritage wedding layout featuring FabScraps papers and embellishments, a beautiful Remember word and stitched circle dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a romantic stamp from Quietfire Designs. I found this photograph of my grandparents wedding in a shoe box. Both of my grandparents passed away quite some time ago and I think it is important to capture the who, what, when before all the details are forgotten. Actually, if the date of the wedding was not written on the back of the photo, I would have had no idea when they got married. I was totally inspired by the May Sketch by Kelly Klapstein in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge. Sketches are such a fast way to get started on a new layout. I flipped this one and used a paper doily from the dollar store for the circular element. This sketch…
Crazy Cats can Dream too! Nicole here share this funny little card and an easy tutorial for a background. This card is inspired by my crazy cat. She ate my stamps…yep you saw that right. She ate my Upstream stamps. I hauled out my Upstream stamps and Crazy Cats stamps and Sizzix Crazy Cat dies. I cut Dream with the Alphanumeric die on Sizzix leather paper. I stamped this crazy cat onto watercolor paper inked with Ranger Archival Jet Black. I used Ranger Ink Distress Markers hickory smoke, carved pumpkin, twisted pumpkin and vintage photo to create my tabby crazy cat. Just like Miss Flurry… the stamp eating cat. I just got the Sizzix Crazy Cat dies so it was so great to not fussy cut. Now that the Crazy Cat is quickly cut I can start the background. I used my Ranger Distress Ink to ink up my Upstream…
Hello Everyone; Kim here! Just wanted to share some fun cards and a tag I recently made using Art Impressions rubber stamps. It’s no secret among my creative friends that I have adored these whimsical stamps for some time. I LOVE them ALL! I used the same colour palette for all my projects, as well as Gesso and Crackle Paint on the tag. I applied the ink directly as well as over top of stencils. I literally just sat and played. My colouring was done with Distress Crayons. For my first card I simply used a stencil and ink for the background design; on white CSM Superstock. I used an Elizabeth Craft Design’s circle die for my image and mat, added some ink to the edges and a bit of sewing. I adhered my background on some Core’dinations cardstock after sanding it a bit to create more texture. A little bow…

Hello again, Nicole here and I am back to share this woody tag I made to show off the Sizzix Evergreen die. I love to get the most out of my dies and think of different ways I can use them. I love to create layers and texture along the way. I spritzed watercolor paper water then sprayed Ranger Distress Spray Stain peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron. I cut the greens from the tattered pinecone die and added a few forest moss Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock greens too. Then I glued them all to a piece of matboard then ran it through on the Evergreen die. Creating this 3D Tree. I stamped the Kraft tag with using picket fence distress paint then inked the edges with ground espresso. With some scrap inked up watercolor paper I cut out “Moments” from the Handwritten Journey Thinlit. I used this Idea-Ology Flashcard trimmed…
Ah…..Connie Nichol here today. There is nothing like sitting down with a crisp new issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and a cup of tea. Especially in the summer when you are sitting outside in a lawn chair listening to the birds singing and the grass feels good under your bare feet. I snapped this picture a couple of summers ago, and it still makes me smile when I look at it. To scrapbook this picture, I used products from Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite line. It’s a very versatile paper line containing everything from soft pastels and delicate florals to bold black and white patterns. It would work for everything from baby photos to travel or wedding photos. The Office Suite alphabet set is big and bold and makes a page title just pop. This alphabet set comes in the paper pack or you can buy it separately. You can also…
Hey everybody Tracy McLennon here today! I am sharing a layout that I created using all sorts of fabulous product from Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock.
