Using Layered Stencils from Elizabeth Craft Designs Hello everyone – Christy Riopel here! I am really enjoying playing with the Elizabeth Craft Designs new layered stencils. It lets you create two coloured patterns with ease! Supplies: Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock, Elizabeth Craft Designs Dies, Stencils and Paper, Clearsnap Dye Ink, Liquitex paint, Tombow Mono Multi liquidglue, thrift store scrabble tiles, Sakura Pens Here are the Elizabeth Craft Designs  supplies I used. Step1: using an ink applicator like this Clearsnap stylus with a foam tip, apply red inks to the cherry part of the stencil. Step 2: layer the stem part of the stencil over top so each stem aligns with a pair of cherries. You can easily see through the stencil to do this. Step 3: using green inks sponge the ink over the stem parts of the stencil This gives you a two colour finished image when you lift off…

Graphic 45 is known for their unique vintage style, with bold deco patterns. You might think that you could only use vintage photos to create heritage layouts, but that is just not true. Today I am sharing a layout that I created using 2 recent photos of our daughter Zoe. This collection is beautiful and can be for any type of photo you choose. Zoe has just graduated high school and is heading to university in Montreal in the fall. Where has the time gone? These photos, taken by a a photographer friend of hers, show more than ever just how grown up, beautiful and independent she has become. We are so proud of her. This collection from Graphic 45 suits that sentiment perfectly. The “Sweet” Life By AJ Otto My favorite thing about scrapbooking is preserving the every day moments.  The stuff you wont remember in the years ahead, the current favorites, likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc. This picture of my daughter is a pretty accurate depiction her at this time, life seems to be all about the phone, her music, and *fingers crossed*, a hot chocolate from Starbucks time permitting.  With extra whip of course. 😉 I started with some splatters of the silk luster just to create a slight break in the white background. I tend to keep my scrapping style to less is more, focusing on the pictures, and hopefully documenting the current event. Luckily, the size of the Spellbinders dies used make scrapbooking with the Spellbinders Prizm die cutting machine entirely possible. I decided on the focal point being her picture, and wanted a small border to ground the…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a heritage wedding layout featuring FabScraps papers and embellishments, a beautiful Remember word and stitched circle dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a romantic stamp from Quietfire Designs. I found this photograph of my grandparents wedding in a shoe box.  Both of my grandparents passed away quite some time ago and I think it is important to capture the who, what, when before all the details are forgotten.  Actually, if the date of the wedding was not written on the back of the photo, I would have had no idea when they got married. I was totally inspired by the May Sketch by Kelly Klapstein in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge.  Sketches are such a fast way to get started on a new layout.  I flipped this one and used a paper doily from the dollar store for the circular element.  This sketch…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout featuring Momenta cardstock and Art-C texture cream.  My youngest played team handball at school this past year and I wanted to scrapbook the photographs the school took of the team. I started with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock and applied Art-C silver texture cream through an Art-C plastic stencil on both sides of the page. Don’t be shy, just smear that texture cream with a palette knife or an old credit card generously through the stencil.  It’s easy to do and just adds such a neat touchable texture to your page. Let dry.  It doesn’t take long.  I then took a couple of pieces of Momenta cardstock and layered them in the middle of the page.  If you have not used this brand of cardstock, you need to go check it out.  It’s heavy and beautifully textured and a pleasure…

Today on the blog we welcome Katelyn Grosart Hi Everyone! I’m Katelyn Grosart and I live in beautiful Calgary, Alberta with my boyfriend of 6 years.  I’ve spent the last 7 years in the papercrafting world  creating cards, mixed media pages, scrapbook layouts, mini albums and altered items. In my spare time when I’m not crafting I like to read a good book and when the weather is nice, you’ll often find me outside taking advantage of the beautiful Canadian weather. I’m excited to be a guest blogger today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The wonderful ladies at the magazine asked if I wanted to guest blog for them and I couldn’t pass up this amazing opportunity.  With summer right around the corner I thought that I would share with you how to create your own under the sea themed reverse canvas featuring Graphic 45’s “Voyage Beneath the Sea”…
