Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Logehere with a fun post inspired by Kerry Engel’s β€˜Crazy Bird’ sign. I have been enjoying these little birds on all sorts of things, but when I saw Kerry’s sign and the quote she used, I knew I had to create one of my own. I built mine on a 8.5×11 canvas. After covering the canvas with gesso and adding some β€˜bumps’ with texture paste through a stencil, I covered the background with some deliciousΒ Dylusions paints from Ranger. I love! love! love! how bright and vibrant the colours are. Once the paint was dry I sprinkled some darker Nuance powders from Magenta over top and spritzed it with water. I rubbed a little bit of brown Dylusions paint around the edges, applying it with a baby wipe.Β I set the canvas aside to dry and stamped my Crazy Birds (Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous) and Paris background…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuringΒ a Quietfire Design stamp and an assortment of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and patterned paper. Β I love using quotes on my scrapbook pages and am often inspired by the stamps I find on the Quietfire Designs website. Elizabeth Craft Designs has just released some 6×6 paper packs featuring close up phototographs taken byΒ Els van de Burgt of stone, wood and metal. Β Pretty cool idea! For the page title, I just used the word ‘Happy’ from the Happy Anniversary die set and sponged it with some Clearsnap ink to take the edge off of the white cardstock. Β  The Stitched Oval dies are one of my favourite ECD sets. Β The sizes and shapes seem to be just right for stamped sentiments and I adore the perforated edges. Β A nice elegant look with no fuss. Β The little pail and shovel I used as…

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here – I’m late to the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird game. Now I’m slightly addicted. I created a flock of birds and then used them on a variety of project. It’s handy to have a pile of them ready and waiting to add to your projects. Tack one on a card or create a wall hanging like I did. I even have three adhered to a lamp in my studio. How to make a flock: 1. Stamp the birds on Creative Scrapbooker Superstock (or a very sturdy cardstock) with a permanent waterproof black ink. 2. Spread Top Boss Clear Embossing Fluid over the image by pressing the ink pad over the image. Covering your image with Top Boss makes the colored ink blend more smoothly. 3. Apply ink from ColorBox Blends and ColorBox ink. Blend with the Smooch tip. Leave white space to create highlight.…

Hello Everyone!Β Β  Karen Ellis here, back from a fabulous weekend at ScrapFest in Kitchener, Ontario. Cathie Allan and I taught some β€œTechnique Tasters” in the Creative Scrapbooker booth and I wanted to show you what I taught here.Β Β Β Β  Cause it was Groovin! I, with the help of Art-C, wanted to get the Groove Tool in the hands of our Scrapbookers – have as many people try it out and see for themselves if it’s a tool for them.Β  It’s a fun, hand-held battery operated painting, inking and distressing tool that applies ink and paint to projects with ease! There are 4 different attachments:Β  a brush tool for painting, a foam attachment for inking and two sand paper heads – fine and course for distressing.Β  Pretty Cool!Β  This tool is handy to have everyone’s tool box but those of you who have carpel tunnel or other hand and wrist aches will…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a simple scrapbook layout featuring a beautiful patterned paper line from Creative Memories stamps and digital cut files from Quietfire Design cut with the Sizzix Eclips 2. and some stitching with the Brother Sewing Machine The scrapbooking process is a little different for everyone, but when I start with a Quietfire Design quote stamp, I am totally inspired by the quote and go from there. Β I looked through my photos and found this one of my friend Jackie with a massive hydrangea bush from 2013 that I thought would do the quote justice. Β Next, I selected the beautiful Creative Memories Watercolour Paper Pack and Watercolor Love Embellishments to form the basis of the layout. Β The soft colours and patterns are just beautiful. Β Although romantic, the papers work for a lot of other photographs too. Lastly, I considered how I might accent the page with…
