Hello Everyone! Karen Ellis here, back from a fabulous weekend at ScrapFest in Kitchener, Ontario.
Cathie Allan and I taught some “Technique Tasters” in the Creative Scrapbooker booth and I wanted to show you what I taught here. Cause it was Groovin!
I, with the help of Art-C, wanted to get the Groove Tool in the hands of our Scrapbookers – have as many people try it out and see for themselves if it’s a tool for them. It’s a fun, hand-held battery operated painting, inking and distressing tool that applies ink and paint to projects with ease! There are 4 different attachments: a brush tool for painting, a foam attachment for inking and two sand paper heads – fine and course for distressing. Pretty Cool! This tool is handy to have everyone’s tool box but those of you who have carpel tunnel or other hand and wrist aches will especially love it!! It was certainly a hit on the weekend!!!
We used the Groove Tool to create these shiny greeting cards also featuring Art-C‘s Luxe Paint and Adhesive Stencil Sheets.
SUPPLIES: Art-C Groove Tool, Luxe Paint, Momenta adhesive stencil sheets, Prima Marketing adhesive rub-ons, Thermoweb gold DecoFoil, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L , American Crafts A2 blank card.
(NOTE – the pictures you’re about to see were taken by me at ScrapFest of some of the people in my mini class. That’s the reason you’ll see different people’s hands, different colours used, etc smile)
First, we placed an adhesive stencil on top of a piece of Super Stock and used the brush attachment on the Groove Tool to paint the cardstock with the Luxe paint.
Take a look at how crisp the edges of the stencil are after painting! Love the weight of Art-C’s adhesive stencils. They held up BEAUTIFULLY with lots of life left in them even after teaching multiple classes at ScrapFest!!
Once dry, we removed the brush attachment and replaced it with the distressing tool so that we could distress the edges of the paper. Some people also painted the paper edges with the brush tool.
To add more shine, we added some foil accents with Prima’s Adhesive Rub On Sheets and some DecoFoils.
And then we attached a sentiment to the painted card before finishing by adhering to a card blank.
Happy, Happy Faces!!! Here are a few more….. 🙂
Everyone loved the opportunity to try the Groove Tool and were blown away by the shine and texture of the Luxe paint. It’s all good!!!!! I know more than a few of my students went home with some Art-C products that day!
I hope you had a creative weekend and that you get a chance to try the Groove Tool soon!!
THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC WEEKEND, SCRAPFEST!!!!
