Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Creativation came to an end last Monday and I was able to get my hands on one of the most talked about products on the show floor this year. Emerald Creek Craft Supplies has collaborated with Seth Apter to come out with his collection of embossing powders called Baked Texture.  These are my new favourite embossing powders and I’m sure that you will be stopping by your local scrapbook store to pick them up. For my project today, I’ve created this Happy Birthday ATC, (Artist Trading Card) which use a variety of products from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L as well as a few products from Ranger Ink. Read below as I share with you how to recreate my Happy Birthday ATC at home. Before starting your ATC’s, you’ll need…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Winter has definitely hit the west coast of Canada this week and we even ended up with a white Christmas. For my note card, I’ve used a variety of products from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L as well as a few products from Ranger Ink, to create this fabulous Warmest Wishes winter note card. To start, cut a piece of Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 3 3/4” x 3 3/4”. Using a blending tool with foam as well as Broken China Distress Ink and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink from Ranger Ink, blend the inks over the entire surface of the cardstock. With the ink dry, dab a bit of Brushed Pewter Distress…

Hello everyone! Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine creating a fun Christmas tag. Holiday crafting is in full swing and you may have a Christmas tag or two left to create. Today I am sharing this easy resist background for your next Christmas tag or any paper crafting project.  Plaid is one of my favourite patterns and it’s even more fun to make your own background.  This way you can coordinate any colour you want.   It only takes a few easy steps and a lot of inky fingers. Lets get started. Putting Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock card stock through it’s paces with stenciling, embossing, spraying and inking for this tag.  Start with the clear embossing powder and stencil to create the resist. Heat dry the spray stain and wipe the extra stain off the embossed pattern.  The clear embossing powder creates the resist allowing the white background…

I LOVE turkey and mashed potatoes as much as the next guy, but the best thing about Thanksgiving is what comes next! Halloween! I have loved Halloween as long as I can remember! I’m not sure why, maybe because I’m an October “baby” and many birthday celebrations were shared with Halloween events or maybe it’s the colours of fall and the chill in the air…time for sweaters, candles and candy! HALLOWEEN DECOR Of course, when my turn came up for this week’s Tuesday with the Team…I knew I would do a Halloween theme! Without further ado, here is the project I worked on! A little Halloween décor to creep up a corner in my house! This diorama was quite easily put together. I had a box from some Christmas cards that I had saved because it was very sturdy and I loved that the cardboard cover had an opening making…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Today I thought I would switch things up a bit from what I normally create and create some tags that you could use for any occasion. Using the beautiful Lavender Breeze Collection from FabScraps, a few fabulous chipboard pieces and flowers from Southern Ridge Trading Company, wonderful stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and a variety of products from Ranger, I was able to create these beautiful Any Occasion Tags. Make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage, as I show you how to recreate my tags in the comfort of your own home. To start, pull out two #8 Manilla Craft Tags from Ranger. With your tags out, you’ll need the Memory Lane and Simplicity patterned paper from FabScraps. Trace one tag on the Memory Lane patterned paper and trace the other tag on the Simplicity patterned paper. Make sure to also mark…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans!  With Easter right around the corner, I thought I would share with you today an Easter card for that special someone in your life. Using the Butterfly Kisses Collection from Bo Bunny, a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, stamps, stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful Easter card. You’ll want to make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage, as I will show you how to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. Using the Gatefold – Elegant Rose die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, die cut the gatefold out of Tutu Double Dot from Bo Bunny. With the gatefold cut out, trim two pieces out that measure 2” x 1 ¾”. Apply Emboss It Ink from Ranger Ink to both pieces. Once the ink is…

Creating a Background with Ranger Hey Creative Scrapbookers, Nicole here with you for Tuesday with the Team.  Have you got your copy of the Spring Issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine?  This card was featured in the Technique Tasters column pages 66-67.  Here, I have a more detailed look at how to create a dynamic background using Ranger Distress Crayons.  Check out the steps below and get your Ranger Distress products ready. Brush a thin layer of Ranger’s White Gesso onto a 2 ¾” x 5 ¾” piece of cream cardstock and set aside to dry.  For the background layer prep a 5 ¾” x 5 ¾” piece of watercolor paper.  Spray with water to help the Distress Spray Stain to blend. Spray water over the distress spray stain again and heat dry.  Add distress ink and blend.  This gives the background a rich look.  Flick water over the inked paper…

Hoppy Easter to you!  Easter is just around the corner and I made a rustic little framed bunny card for Xyron.  How can you not love these mossy little bunnies!  The Xyron Create a Sticker works wonders for attaching the moss. The Ornate Frame 2 die is the perfect frame for this adorable bunny.  Applying the Ranger Emboss It dauber makes for fast application.  Sprinkle with Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Oil Rubbed Bronze embossing powder then rub the edges clean for a rustic worn look. Exposing the edges allows to some inking with Ranger Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  The Create a Sticker is the perfect size for those smaller die cuts to apply adhesive effortlessly and without the sticky mess for applying the moss. I love having moss in my stash.  Push the moss into place and trim off the moss around the bunny.  The frame is bigger so I used the Creative Station with the 5″ cartridge refill running it through face up.  Rub the frame…
