I’m getting all caught up with my Sketchy Challenges…it feels good! I love working with sketches, it takes the toughest part of scrapbooking out of the picture-the design! Once that part is dealt with the creative juices can flow. Here is our September Sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein, that was the starting point for my page. For this layout I wanted to play with my newly purchased Nuance Pigment Powders from Magenta. It was the first time I played with them after hearing about them through Christy Riopel at our Edmonton carnival. They are FUN to say the least and I look forward to using them more and learning other applications with them. I masked off three boxes and used the Nuance powders to colour them…I really should have used a small amount of Gesso on my cardstock, but I forgot…it’s a learning process! Had I used the Gesso my…

Hello! It’s Kim here on the blog today! Just wanted to share a Halloween themed layout with you using some of my β€œnew” favourite products! I was recently introduced to Magenta’s Nuance powders and I think I just may be developing a crush on them! I used them on this layout to create the background. I first applied a thin layer of Gesso to my Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock. This β€œprimes” the page making it less porous, which in turn allows for longer working time with some products! I spritzed the paper with water in the areas I want to apply colour, then tap some Nuance powders on the area and spritz with more water. Sometimes I would jiggle the page to move the colour, sometimes move it with a heat gun and sometimes dap it with paper towel to soften the colour. In other words…JUST PLAY! I layered the FabScraps’…

If you love stamping, then you probably love Quietfire Design products! These beautiful calligraphy stamps and hand-drawn images look gorgeous on cards, scrapbook layouts, and other paper crafts. Quietfire Design also offers a selection of wonderful dies in the calligraphy style. Today Kelly Klapstein’s Graduation layout is on the Quietfire Design blog featuring the stamp set “Butterfly Circles, May the Wings.” Click HERE to visit their blog now and learn more about this page design. Kelly used the FabScraps paper collection “Tranquility.” The circles, diecut element, and gold border were all cut using the Brother ScanNCut machine from Core’dinationsΒ  Adhesive glitter paper and Canson Watercolour paper. The ScanNCut can scan the stamped images and cut a shape around them. The Core’dinations glitter paper is 12″ x 24″ … and works beautifully with electronic cutting machines.
