Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card, try one of our…

Happy Monday my friends! These cuties.. right? The minute I saw this little fox, I had to have the Foxy Friends stamp set and matching fox builder punch. Little did I know at the time that this bundle could create more than just a fox! The critters created in these two cards were made from this punch. And believe me, there’s many other cuties you can make. Both of these cards were created with babies in mind. It must be the cuteness factor. Often when I have a shower or there’s a new baby arriving, I am scrambling to make a card. Not now. Not today. I started out by checking out the Stampin’ Up! website to see how the fox was supposed to be built. I stamped and punched in different colours until I was happy with my fox. This is kind of my process for any builder style…

Connie Nichol and I were really excited about our first morning at CHA, which started early with a breakfast and demo for the media in the Ranger booth. We spent 20 minutes with each of 4 designers….and the first one was Tim Holtz! At the demo tables, we learned all about the new releases for each designer’s line. Tim Holtz has a number of exciting new products. Everyone is excited about the Distress Crayons! Distress Crayons are formulated to achieve vibrant coloring effects on porous surfaces for mixed-media. The smooth water-reactive pigments are ideal for creating brilliant backgrounds, watercoloring, smudge effects and more. Colour directly onto your surface and blend with water then layer with Distress Inks or Stains for more creative possibilities. The crayons are available in 3 sets that coordinate with the Distress Palette. There are 3 new mediums that look amazing, and Tim demonstrated how to use each…
When I walked into the Clearsnap booth at CHA, there was a special person there waiting to say Hi! Do you recognize that happy face and wave? Yes, it is Cathie Allan, sharing her stamping magic and love of inks in the Clearsnap show floor classroom. At the end of this post, you will find a video with Cathie ‘LIVE” doing a demo for us in the booth. There is good reason for Cathie Allan’s exuberance and energy…the Clearsnap products are awesome! There are 8 new pigment ink colours and new Cat’s eye Crafter’s Colorbox inks too. New Colorbox Chalk ink pads were on display as well. A new pigment inks Petal Point was released under the Teresa Collins name, called “Fierce.” Teresa Collins also has created a line of wood mounted stamps: There are beautiful new colours of Colorbox Premium dye ink in full size and minis by…

Welcome to our guest blogger, Laurie Finch, who is sharing her love of Pocket Letters! Today I wanted to tell you about my newest obsession – Pocket Letters! And specifically, mixed media pocket letters. Have you seen these? Little trading card sized pockets of creative fun, sent around the world through a network of like-minded artists. You craft cards to fit in the nine pockets of a trading card protector sheet, slip some extra crafting goodies and a nice, chatty letter in the back and it folds neatly in 3 and fits in a standard business size envelope for mailing. I love this idea! It’s like combining all the best parts of penpals, papercrafting, RAK (random acts of kindness) and art work in one! So let’s get started! I taped an 8 x 11” piece of heavyweight watercolour paper to my work surface so that the wet mediums don’t make…
Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today with an easy watercolour technique you can use on a card or other crafty project. I created this card with a beautiful Magenta stamp, Chameleon Pens, and a Sizzix embossing folder using Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock paper. First, I inked up my Magenta stamp with Clearsnap Colorbox white pigment ink, and stamped and heat embossed onto white Superstock. I wanted a white outline background to colour in. Magenta rubber stamps have gorgeous, intricate details that show up perfectly when stamped! To create a watercolour effect, I took out my set of Chameleon Pens. These alcohol ink pens are amazing! You have all shades or tones of colour in a single pen. So for the yellow petals, I coloured in gradations of yellow because the Chameleon pen allows you to add toner to the pen nib with a couple of easy steps. There’s a LOT…
It’s always exciting to see the Clearsnap booth at the Craft & Hobby show to find out about new ink colours being released and other new products. There are 6 new Ann Butler Colorbox Crafter’s Ink Pads…Blueberry, Deep Woods, Canyon, Ocean Breeze, Evergreen and Desert Sand I know that Cathie Allan will be very interested in the two new pigment ink Petal Points: Serenity is a gorgeous mix of greens, teals and purples. Doodlebug has a bright, fun palette, true to their paper collections. There are 6 new Spritzers (Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Drop, Frosted Plum, Mermaid, Grasshopper, Putty) and 4 new Colorbox Archival Dye Ink pads… Lilac, Mist, Toasted Apricot and Saddle. Eileen Hull’s Colorbox Blends have added 6 more new colours too: Stop, Wildberry, Uniform, Beach, Frog, and Golden. Clearsnap continues to carry Aladine’s fantastic Izinks, adding 3 new colours: Rose, Gentian and Lotus There are so many different applications for Izinks….lots of fun…
