Hi Everyone…or should I say, “Happy Halloween!” It’s Kelly here to share a layout. Do you have you have your costumes ready and spooky décor around the house?  I know I have some cobwebs here and there! ha ha ha Here is a Halloween layout I designed using Simple Stories’ fun “Frankie and Friends” collection, along with some awesome Sizzix dies. I based my design on Sue Sykes’ October Sketch. Have you been playing with her sketches and uploading your layouts to our Sketchy gallery? Here are the three Sizzix dies I used: I die cut them from American Crafts glitter paper… love the sparkle! Beacon Adhesives is great for adhering these pieces: I bent the bat wings for added dimension and just glued their heads down. With white and black markers, I added faux stitching around the title and other cut paper elements. It’s never too late to create a layout based on…

Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some designing tips using Spellbinders® dies.  I created this vintage layout by layering Spellbinders die cuts behind my photo. I used the beautiful graphic 45 “Botanical Tea” collection, which I thought was perfect for this photo of my mom and her friends having a casual tea party back in 1953. This gorgeous Spellbinders Nestabilities® set called “Elegant Ovals” (S4-425) die cut beautifully with this cream card stock (which came in the graphic 45 paper pack) Just look at those intricate cut designs! You cannot get that result from an electronic cutting machine. I used the dies themselves to trace the same shapes from patterned paper to fit inside each Elegant Oval. All of my embellishments are either graphic 45 stickers or fussy cut from the patterned papers. I can always count on Spellbinders dies for intricate cut designs that really pop…

Hello Everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some stamping on a Father’s Day Card. With some wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, I made a really cute card (which my kids will probably give to their Dad! ha ha)  These papers are actually a winter collection, but I think they work great for Father’s Day, don’t you? I used this awesome chevron border punch along the bottom of the card base. I just love this Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge set and used 3 of the stamps for this card. I stamped this striped piece to layer over the heart with the sentiment, which I hand wrote. I added that teeny jaw clip just because it’s so adorable! I also drew the heart on card stock and cut it out, then stamped the spattered dots on it. Behind the punched chevron border, inside the card base, I stamped these grunge lines:…

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share with you some fun ways to use the Brother™ ScanNCut when designing your scrapbook layout. SUPPLIES: Brother ScanNCut, Bo Bunny patterned paper, Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Hearts, Clearsnap red glitter. Here is my take on May Sketchy Challenge.  Aren’t these Bo Bunny papers adorable?  This collection is called “Happy Tails”.  When I saw them I knew I had to make a scrapbook layout of our new puppy Finnigan! To create that background of red hearts, I designed a stencil with my Brother™ ScanNCut machine. I also designed the “Puppy Love” title with the ScanNCut and Core’dinations Colorcore Cardstock. If you’d like to watch another video that shows how I created the stencil heart background, click HERE to visit my blog.  On my blog I also have the free cutting file of this…

Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly here, and today I’m going to share a fun embellishment you can make for your scrapbook layouts or cards. For my newest Double the Fun sketch, I created this layout, celebrating my son’s Graduation: See those shiny silver stars?  They are made using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam shapes: 3D Foam Stars and Clearsnap foils!   In the package, the 3D Foam Stars are nesting, so you get an assortment of sizes. Here is a quick photo tutorial of how you can make your own shiny stars! Designer Foil from Clearsnap will help you make your stars silver. First, remove one of the star outlines from the sheet and place on any patterned paper. I used BoBunny’s Woodland Winter collection. Remove the adhesive backing from the 3D Foam Star and then press the Clearsnap Designer Foil directly on top.  You don’t have to rub, just press…

Every great scrapbook layout and card needs a solid foundation, and that is where Core’dinations™ card stock comes in.  Their booth at CHA was jam-packed with tons of card stock possibilities and more! Their sign says it all… I was VERY excited about their “Chalk Core” card stock.  There are 2 options: black exterior and white core, or black exterior and different coloured cores.  SO COOL! There are 5 colour options: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Orange. They come in smaller folded card sizes too! So when you emboss and/or sand to expose the core, you achieve that fun chalkboard effect… Totally love the distressed style you can create with Core’dinations Colorcore card stock! Also on display was designer David Tutera’s “Celebrate” card making system: These sets incorporate 3 steps for card design: 1. Select a card  2. Add a layer  3. Embellish  How easy is this? And just look…

Even before you step inside the DCWV booth at CHA, you know you are in for a treat!  On the exterior walls of their booth hang the most incredible works of art…designed by paper artists.  I just have to show you some of them!   Check out the paper layers in this one… Aren’t these astonishing?  And what’s also astonishing is the number of wonderful paper stacks inside the booth! The newest releases include the following Stacks: Citrus, Homeroom, Emerald Garden, Little Miss, Little Mister, Far East, Green, Linen Closet, Haute Pink and Modern Meadow. For those of you who love texture, there are SO many fantastic specialty paper stacks available! The Burlap and Corrugate and others now come in 12 x 12 Stacks. Let’s not forget about the card stock stacks! There is even glitter card stock… DCWV also offers trendy…

All of you crafters who are crazy about ink will love seeing what Clearsnap has on display in their CHA booth! Along with my own photos are catalog inserts with even more info about their new releases. This first shelf unit alone packs a punch of exciting new products! On the left is an innovative new inking system that I’m very excited about:  Colorbox™ Blends by Eileen Hull. It’s an foam ink applicator with the ink INSIDE…and it holds more than 10 times the ink of a traditional ink pad! There are lots of colours to choose from! In the  middle of that shelf you will see new Colorbox Art Screens for stenciling techniques: Clearsnap also offers a newly redesigned blending tool called the Colorbox Color Blender with foam pad refills you can purchase separately. There are six new Pigment ink colours for you to use with these blending…
