In September, Kelly Klapstein has been Guest Designer over at the Quietfire Design blog.Β  On Friday she shared her second project, a gorgeous Thanksgiving card. SUPPLIES: Quietfire Design stamps and die; Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock; FabScraps patterned paper; Clearsnap Ink; Brother ScanNCut; May Arts Ribbon twine. Kelly used a beautiful Quietfire Design stamp set called “To Give Thanks” along with a “Thanks” die.Β  Click HERE to visit the Quietfire Design blog to learn more about how this card was made. The 3D easel card base and pumpkin were designed using the Brother ScanNCut machine. Here is Kelly’s video tutorial on how she created these with the ScanNCut.

Hi Everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share my layout based on the September Sketchy Challenge. Here is my sketch: I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft collection “Botanica.” Actually, these products were in my September kit from ScrapShotz. With this Kaisercraft stamp set and Β “Avocado” ink, I added a subtle pattern of leaves to the solid green paper layers. When you stamp several times or ‘values’ without reloading with ink, you can create your own patterned paper (learned from the great ink queen herself, Cathie Allan!) The leaves are cut with my Brother ScanNCut machine After cutting them from mixed media paper, I watercoloured them with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Ever complete a project that when you look at as a completed item, you wonder what took you so long to create it? That’s exactly what I thought when I was finished this tag! I didn’t realize that it would be such a complicated tag when I started, so I didn’t take photos along the way. But I would like to give a little explanation for some of the things I did to create this tag. Supplies Used- Dies and Embossing folder: Sizzix; Inks and Embossing Powder: Clearsnap ColorBox; Patterned Paper: Prima Marketing; Ribbon: May Arts; Metal Leaf; L’adore Β  The background: I embossed some white cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder, then sprayed it with some Clearsnap ColorBox Spritz Spray (spun sugar). Then I used my brayer to apply some pigment ink over top (Clearsnap ColorBox Old Rose) and heat embossed it. Then I adhered it to a piece…

These dies were punched out of Core’dinations ColorCore Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered cardstock collection This layout features patterned paper from Simple StoriesΒ – the Legacy Collection Kelly used Scrapbook Adhesive by 3LΒ E-Z Runner, Dodz andΒ 3D Foam SquaresΒ to adhere all the elements onto her page.
