Happy Monday! Kim here with a quick card to share! I have been wanting to work with this paper collection from Heartfelt Creations for sometime now, but there always seems to be something else that needs to get done! Friday morning I put it on the top of my to-do list and am so happy I did. Creative time is so good for my soul! Celebrate the Journey collection also has some wonderful dies and stamps that play fabulously together! These are just a few! I chose to make my own background paper using Canadian Scrapbooker’s Superstock, Clearsnap Colorbox chalk & pigment inks and of course the wonderful stamp shown below! I matted the background with paper from the collection and began to build my card. I used the hot air balloon stamp to create my dimensional elements and layered May Arts ribbon & pieces of patterned papers to get the look I wanted.…
Pull out your Sizzix Eclips2 There are thousands of different free fonts that are available on the internet and they can be easily installed and cut with the Sizzix Eclips2 using the free Ecal Lite software that comes with the machine. I can see that I will soon need to upgrade the ‘lite’ software so that I can cut svg files, but that will be the topic of future blog posts. Today I am focused on installing, resizing and welding a font to make a title for a scrapbook page. This blog post isn’t meant to be a comprehensive step by step tutorial but will give you an idea of what is involved. I found it easy and wanted to share my first attempt. One of my favourite things is truly a scrapbook layout about anything CANADIAN! I sincerely have a soft spot for this beautiful country I call home. Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some designing tips using Spellbinders® dies. I created this vintage layout by layering Spellbinders die cuts behind my photo. I used the beautiful graphic 45 “Botanical Tea” collection, which I thought was perfect for this photo of my mom and her friends having a casual tea party back in 1953. This gorgeous Spellbinders Nestabilities® set called “Elegant Ovals” (S4-425) die cut beautifully with this cream card stock (which came in the graphic 45 paper pack) Just look at those intricate cut designs! You cannot get that result from an electronic cutting machine. I used the dies themselves to trace the same shapes from patterned paper to fit inside each Elegant Oval. All of my embellishments are either graphic 45 stickers or fussy cut from the patterned papers. I can always count on Spellbinders dies for intricate cut designs that really pop…
