Hi everybody, Connie here with my take on the March sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker It’s a Sketchy ChallengeΒ .Β Β I stayed pretty true to the sketch this time around and used it to feature a favourite photo of my boys and I on a vacation in the Rocky Mountains a few years ago.Β Β Heartfelt Creations has a beautiful paper collection called βCelebrate the Journeyβ that went perfectly with my picture.Β The papers in this line come in soft hues of teal, pink, green and brown and feature subtle travel themed patterns such as words, script, maps, bicycles and balloons.Β Matching stamps and dies are also available. Inspired by the flourishes on the March sketch, I reached for a Heartfelt Creations flourish backgrounds stamp and added some subtle blue touches to the page behind the photo mat. For embellishments, I just cut out piecesβfrom another piece of patterned paper in…

Graphic 45 has a brand new collection that features images that are perfect for us that love to cook, garden and farm. When I saw the paper and saw pictures of seed packets with carrots and peas, I went weak at the knees. I have a lot of gardening pictures! The colours are rich and vibrant and so fun to work with. You can buy this collection in individual 12×12 sheets or in three different sizes of paper pads. Graphic 45 has also designed matching chipboard, stickers and stamps. Look for it at your favourite scrapbooking stores β it should be arriving any day. I used the January 2015 sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy gallery as inspiration and created this layout. When to stop and when not to? by Christy Riopel January always makes me a little introspective and I tend to scrapbook more interpersonal stuff this time of year. I created this layout about dealing with the old(er) girl in the mirror these days. SUPPLIES: FabScraps pattened paper and chipboard, Aladine Izink inksΒ distributed byΒ Clearsnap, May Arts ribbon, Impression Obsession stamps, ColorBox Surfacez ink by Clearsnap, Spellbinders dies and Grand Calibur die cutting machine, Dymo Label Maker, Ranger Industries gel pen, Beacon Adhesives. It ended up being an exploration in not just one hard question ( when did I get this old?) but in another unrelated question I often faceβ¦.. When do I stop? When is enough on a layout? Here is a picture of what It looked like when I first thought it was done. Β Β Not that I was unhappy with it but I just felt it needed more.…
Hello everyone! Kim Gowdy here!!!! It’s January and I’m already behind! Actually I was late getting my November 2014 Sketchy Challenged done, so really THAT doesn’t count! No worries I’ll get behind in 2015 too! My point is…it doesn’t matter! Scrapbooking is meant to be fun. It’s my time to escape the routine and sometimes chaosΒ of daily life. Lucky for you, we keep our sketches in an online gallery that is ALWAYS available for you to browse and use! Just because we put a date on it, certainly doesn’t mean you need to create with it at that time! …so here I am to reveal my layout for November’s sketch. Our sketches are designed by the talented Sue Sykes. Play with them and share how they have inspired you! Remember…our Sketchy Gallery is open 24/7! Happy Sunday everyone!
Sizzix Eclips2 – Using SVG files Today I decided to try using some free SVG files I found on the internet.Β Β An SVG file is kind of a universal format that can be imported into most electronic die cutting machines.Β The possibilities are endless and files are widely available β there are even some free cut files on the Canadian Scrapbooker website!Β Check these out hereΒ http://www.canadianscrapbooker.ca/cut-files/.Β Β If you google βfree svg filesβ you will begin to get an idea of some of the images that are available.Β There are even more wonderful svg files available for a small fee.Β Β A couple of great websites that I have discovered so far are http://www.misskatecuttables.com/ and http://svgcuts.com/blog/. In order to cut svg files with the Sizzix Eclips2, you must upgrade the Ecal βliteβ software that comes with the machine to the full featured Ecal software.Β This costs around $60 but having it…
