Hi Connie Nichol here today with a couple of snowy projects that are being featured over on the Quietfire Design blog. Β I started with some of the papers from Simple Stories Snow Patrol line and just kept creating from there. Β Here’s a simple 8.5 x 11 scrapbook layout to feature a photo I snapped with my phone in the Rocky Mountains last fall. Snowflakes seemed like the perfect embellishment, so I used my Sizzix Eclips 2 to cut a bunch of large snowflakes using the Berry Leaf digital cutting file from Quietfire Design and layered them under the photo to form a snowy background. Β Β I love this cutting file because it includes the solid background layers you can use to add dimension and interest. Β Even though I used only a monochromatic white, there are so many possibilities for layering different colours and types of paper to get different…

Check it out, Nicole Wright Β here with a promise of spring for Tuesday with the Team!Β I wanted to create a lot of texture so why not stamp on canvas.Β I created this 5×5 card using a few of my favorite Sizzix dies including the Birch Thinlit die. I used various Sizzix dies to create the foliage including Tattered Pinecone, Layered Leaf and Tattered Leaves. I love inking up these filigree metal leaf charms from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.Β Rangerβs Peeled Paint Distress Paint is perfect for distressing these metal charms. I created my own leaves with watercolor paper and an assortment of Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron. I inked the leavesΒ with Ranger Distress Inks peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron right onto the canvas. The Birch die is cut onto watercolour paper where I inked and blotted with Ranger Distress Inks…
Connie Nichol and I were really excited about our first morning at CHA, which started early with a breakfast and demo for the media in the Ranger booth. We spent 20 minutes with each of 4 designers….and the first one was Tim Holtz! At the demo tables, we learned all about the new releases for each designer’s line. Tim Holtz has a number of exciting new products. Everyone is excited about the Distress Crayons!Β Distress Crayons are formulated to achieve vibrant coloring effects on porous surfaces for mixed-media. The smooth water-reactive pigments are ideal for creating brilliant backgrounds, watercoloring, smudge effects and more. Colour directly onto your surface and blend with water then layer with Distress Inks or Stains for more creative possibilities. The crayons are available in 3 sets that coordinate with the Distress Palette. There are 3 new mediums that look amazing, and Tim demonstrated how to use each…
