Ghoultide Greetings Mixed Media Wall Hanging By Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Halloween right around the corner I thought that it would be fun to share with you how to create a mixed media wall hanging piece as a perfect home dΓ©cor addition to any spot in your home. Using stamps, charms and embossing powders from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and pairing them with Ranger Ink products, I was able to create a fun piece. Youβll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate it in the comforts of your own home. To start, youβll need a 5 Β½β x 5 Β½β wood piece. I managed to pick one up that was already meant to be used as a wall hanging. Once you have your piece in front of you, youβll need to apply 2…
Sweet & Spooky Halloween Layouts by Karla Yungwirth Hi there crafty friends! Karla here today from Creative Love Affair, and I am so so super excited to be a Guest Designer today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! It is an amazing honor! Today, I’m sharing some Halloween photos I’ve scrapbooked from a few years ago using the Bo Bunny Wonderfully Wicked Collection. It definitely is wonderful and spooky, and so fun to play with! These pictures were taken when my now 9 year old daughter, Amie, was 4 – and this year, before we even looked at these pics, my now 4 year old, Erica, decided to wear this exact costume – which her cousin had worn when she was this age! Now, to find those photos! That’s one of the reasons I love scrapbooking – looking through older pictures, remembering, and getting family talking about what they remember.…
Meet Milagros Rivera – this weeks guest blogger! Hi Creative Scrapbooker fans, Milagros with you today from sunny Puerto Rico! The month of October marks the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’ve been involved in doing something to raise awareness for the past 10 years, I’m really excited to be here with you and broaden the scope! I’m so lucky my mom has survived her fight and we have her with us! I also need to check myself again this month because on my last mammogram the radiologist detected something she wants to closely monitor because of my family history. If you’re over 40 or if you have family history don’t let the time pass. Make an appointment to get checked today! Β Give a friend of family member the support they need. Put some positive energy out there. Run or walk a marathon and pass the word. Β We are in this…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design. Β The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil. Β Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint? Β This stuff is gorgeous. Β And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph. Β (P.S. By the way, especially for Canadians, I had this 8×8Β photoΒ enlargement printed at www.blacks.ca for 99 cents on a sale last month. Β I am super…
Hello everyone – Jayme Loge here with Tuesday with the Team! My kid is a bookworm, and when I saw Bo Bunnyβs Beautiful Dreamer paper line, I knew it was meant just for her! Not only do I love the colour scheme, the book and imaginative images are wonderful. I paired the paper with Creative Scrapbookerβs October 2016 sketch: I am currently having a very serious love affair with the Ranger Dylusions paints and so decided to use them to create the background shapes on my layout. I laid down my stencil and applied the paint with a paper towel, βishingβ the circle shape. I used three colors that coordinated with the paper. I added a little of the green around the edges of the paper and lightly smooshed throughout the background for just a bit more texture. Once the paint was dry, I built my layout on top. One…

Happy first day of Fall!Β Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and Iβm excited to share my most favorite time of yearβ¦ Fall! I just got all my Sizzix dies to play with and I went for the Dashing Deer first knowing I was somehow going to create a fall project. Β Well I usually have some idea of what I may create. Β This one needed lots of leaves and burlap. Onto the fun! I decided to layer up the antlers with the mat board cut 2 times and a layer of SizzixΒ Leather Paper. Β I cut the head and upper body with some scrap Core paper. Β For the leaves I made my own paper using watercolor paper. I grabbed my Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, carved pumpkin and fossilized amber. Β Spritz and spray.Β Apply matching distress inks to intensify the colour. Now that the paper is dry I can cut…
Hi! Kim here! Just a quick share of layout I was working on before our summer holidays. I was tidying up some paper stash and came across one of my Scrap Shotz’ kits that needed some love! β¦and so starts the process! I used papers and die cuts from the Kaisercraft βBotanicaβ collection. I added a bit of dimension and interest to the leaves by outlining the leaf veins with my Pico Embellishers, aΒ fun product I was introduced to by Design Team member, Christy Riopel! I painted on a small amount of Art-C Ultra Chalk [soft, matte paint] where I wanted my journaling. Once dry, it provided a fantastic surface to write on with my Dylusions Black Marble paint pen. The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnivals are right around the corner! AND we are super duper excited to start announce that are both for our Registration for our 9th annual…
Hello everyone! Jayme Loge here today! For my day job, I work in a school as an education assistant. In previous years, my assignment has been to provide literacy support to several classes. This meant working with several teachers and a rotating group of kids. Due to student needs, my assignment this past year has been in one classroom. It was a wonderful experience to work closely with one teacher and student group. I decided to get the kids together to work on a special end of the year gift for the teacher. They ended up creating this wonderful canvas! Supplies Used: Canvas- Michaels 16×20 Stencils- Donna Downey (Keyhole Splatter, Bubbles, Halftone Dots); Tim Holtz (Speckles, Lace) Paint- Ranger Dylusions Stamps- Frogβs Whiskers Ink Ink- Clearsnap We worked for weeks in a secret location, kids giving up their recess time in turn so everyone got a chance to contribute.
