Hello! Kim here, just logging in to share my take on this month’s Sketchy Challenge! This month, for the most part, I stayed true to Kelly’s sketch. As always, a sketch is a fun place to start creating from…especially if your mojo is on hiatus. I pulled out my “A Year to Remember” collection from Creative Memories, and had fun going through the many different embellishments to find the ones that I felt worked best. I really like the colour palette of this collection, and look forward to pulling it out again. Here’s a detail shot of the banners. I cut between each banner, so I could add some texture and movement to it. Hi everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share my layout based on our March Sketchy challenge. Here is the sketch: I used the gorgeous paper collection called “Soiree” by BoBunny. These papers are perfect for my daughter’s photo because she adores all things vintage and retro. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create the title, including the hand lettered ‘Hello,’ which is a cut file I designed myself. I also outlined the “Sweet Sixteen” with a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen. This dimensional flower with leaves is from the ScanNCut machine library of images. And the banner is an Impression Obsession stamp that was scanned and cut with the ScanNCut also…. no fussy cutting! I coloured the banners with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Did you know the ScanNCut also has the ability to draw designs? I used the drawing pens feature for the journaling. That little brown gingham…
Watercolour is a hot trend right now that is seen everywhere in the crafting world, on our scrapbook pages, cards, and other projects. Today on our blog, Kerry Engel is sharing some wonderful projects and techniques using Magenta Nuance Powders. I’m one of those lettering people. Always playing with pens, practicing my down strokes, experimenting with different mediums. Hello everyone, it’s Kim Gowdy here today! This is kind of a “sequel” to my last post where I coloured on Core’dinations Glitter Cardstock. This time I want to share a similar idea but with a REALLY cool new product…Core’dinations Glitter Prints. This card was made by downloading a colouring design from the Chameleon Pens website. You have to sign up for their newsletter to access the downloads…it so worth it because you get lots of tutorials and eye candy! It was printed on the Glitter Prints and coloured using my Chameleon Pens. Though hard to see in this image…it shimmers and shines! The paper played beautifully with my inkjet printer and dried super fast! So…you saw a simple image printed beautifully, that alone is exciting but check out this layout I created. Hi ALL! Kim Gowdy here with a quick card share! Trying to get my head out of winter; so I’ve had fun creating a card, using this leaf stamp and sentiment stamp from Magenta. The card kind of reminds me of a tropical destination [NOT on my calendar] and warms my winter heart. All of the colour applied to the card was done with Sakura’s CRAY-PAS oil pastels and some yellow was added to the background with Sakura’s Koi watercolor brush pens. The oil pastels were quite fun to play with. They layer and blend so smoothly. I added a few colours and used a piece of paper towel on my finger to blend and kept layering until I was happy…SO EASY. The colors are soft yet vibrant…I look forward to more creative time with them. Have a CREATIVE day!
Pens, pens, pens, and more pens! WOW! The Sakura booth is bursting with everything to make your world colourful! Branching out from pens, Sakura has expanded their beautiful line of Koi Watercolor palettes, suitable for travel, called the “Pocket Field Sketch Box,” which comes in different sizes.
