Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today. Β I used the September sketch in the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge as a jumping off point for scrapbooking this childhood photo.Β  I don’t have a lot of pictures from when I was a kid and virtually all of them are in 35 mm slide format, so I am slowly scanning, printing and scrapbooking them while my parents are still around to help me remember dates, places and people. The layout doesn’t resemble the sketch much, but that’s the beauty of working with scrapbook sketches.Β  It’s a place to start.Β  And then once started, page elements can get moved around, added to or eliminated. I have been working a lot lately with CloseΒ To My Β Heart products. Β They have some terrific stamps and I love the way the ink, cardstock and patterned paper coordinates.Β  Makes everything so easy.Β  This layout features the β€˜Brushed’ patterned paper and…

Summers in Canada are short! As such, we Canadians pack as much as we can into two or three months, making them very busy! That explains why I am sharing my July sketch in August! Enough said! July’s sketch was a simple grid, easy to work with. There really is so much you can do with this type of sketch, it’s a jumping board to creative fun! I chose to offset my grid and use three pictures! I was pleased with the end results. My four-legged BellaΒ is often a willing subject for scrapbook pages, not so much for laying on the ground while camping! This layout came easily together using the Simple Stories – Life Documented collection And I stuck everything down using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L This sketch designed by Sue Sykes, was her last for us in the Sketchy Challenges. She has provided us with…

Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the July sketch in the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge. Β It was a great opportunity to play with some new Sizzix dies. Β TheΒ Bird Crazy FramelitsΒ shown below are designed to match the Stampers Anonymous cling mount Bird Crazy stamps and they cut right up to the stamped image. Β You can layer wings, beaks and eyes if you are so inclined, and have a lot of fun. Β These little birdies are the cutest things ever! Β I coloured in the stamped images with Chameleon pens. Β Love being able to get a variety of shades of colour from one pen. For the background of the page, I used a 6×6 pad of Core’dinations Kraft-Core cardstock and used another new Sizzix die to cut out some really cool designs. Β So many possiblities with these Sizzix thinlit dies….. Β  I cut the title out of Elmer’s…
