Hi everyone, Cathie Allan here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog, with a few, bright, spring projects. SPRING is just around the corner and with the days getting longer , the sun shining brighter I just NEEDED to play with some fun bright colors from Clearsnap and some βspring likeβ images from Stampendous. I did not know what I wanted to create so I created 3 projects thinking I would share with you my favorite. Well β¦ I could not decide which one was βmy favoriteβ so I am sharing all 3 projects with you. I have photographed each project separately and posted those photos at the end of this blog.It all began with these rubber stamp images from Stampendous, plus a gorgeous new metal stencil.Media of choice was my Pinwheel Petal Point and re-inkers from Clearsnap, my ColorBox stylus and foam tips and a ColorBox black pigment stamp pad…
Coffee Helps by Cathy Caines βLife Happens. Coffee Helps.β This bag of Β beans wasnβt always busted open. Oh no.Β Itβs wasnβt. I finished up my projects using the Stampinβ Up! Coffee CafΓ© stamp set and co-ordinating Coffee Cups Framelits dieβ¦. β¦ I laid them on the dining counter ready to photograph the next day when the sun rose. And then I saw thisβ¦ARGH! My son Jack thought the beans were raisins and had been fiddling around to open the bag. Whatβs the strangest thing is that he doesnβt like raisins.Β He picks them out of the trail mix packages from Costco. But thatβs when I noticed the tag. βLife Happens. Coffee Helps.β Exactly. This is it.Β Life happens. Coffee is important to me.Β I crave it. I drink it black and I like it super hot.Β I donβt re-heat because it never tastes right after that.Β I like to drink…
Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here!Iβve got a soft spot for Creative Memories. I started my scrapbooking journey with them 20 years ago. I have over 25 completed CM albums. All of my layouts have a home in one of their albums. Their latest collection is a hit with my youngest daughter. . . sheΒ loves the Β adorable big-eyed critters. Β Β When I saw the baby animals I thought theyβd rock a tag. Iβve been addicted to tags this year. I find them a fun alternative to cards and great additions to my scrapbook pages. 1. Make a βtagβ base. I made the big tags using a couple of CM punches and a sheet of stickers. To start, I cut rectangles from Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock and then used the CM 4-way Corner Punch to create funky scalloped corners and oblong hole. Give stickers dimension. I stuck some of the Woodland Whimsy…
Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Today I thought I would switch things up a bit from what I normally create and create some tags that you could use for any occasion.Β Using the beautiful Lavender Breeze Collection fromΒ FabScraps, a few fabulous chipboard pieces and flowers fromΒ Southern Ridge Trading Company, wonderful stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and a variety of products fromΒ Ranger, I was able to create these beautiful Any Occasion Tags. Make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage, as I show you how to recreate my tags in the comfort of your own home. To start, pull out two #8 Manilla Craft Tags from Ranger. With your tags out, youβll need the Memory Lane and Simplicity patterned paper from FabScraps. Trace one tag on the Memory Lane patterned paper and trace the other tag on the Simplicity patterned paper. Make sure to also mark…
Wouldn’t we all like one of these sitting on the table. What a pretty specimen this would make. Today I am sharing a tutorial forΒ SizzixΒ using theΒ Flower Garden and Mini Bouquet. Β You can get the Framelits to go with theΒ Mini BouquetΒ andΒ Flower GardenΒ Stamps. Β No fussy cutting! Β Well I was going through my “Library” of dies looking for theΒ ApothecaryΒ die and I found theΒ Bell Jar w/PedestalΒ first…so it wins! The best part about these stamps… no cutting! Β Stamp and line up the Framelit. Β Every flower needs a butterfly and theΒ Butterfly Duo w/Texture FadeΒ is exceptional. TheΒ Magrnetic PlatformΒ is essential for the Framelits and Thinlits. Β It helps to use a little washi to hold the famelits in place so it won’t shift. Β Plastic packaging is perfect for the Bell Jar glass portion. I used the new Mixed Media #8 Distress Tags with theΒ Flourish Texture Fade. Β Once the tag is embossed I covered the tag with gesso. Β While that…
Hey Crafters, NicoleΒ Wright here and Iβm back to share my love for industrial crafting.Β With the new Sizzix Β Gears available I decided to haul out my SizzixΒ Gadget Gears die (I believe the first Sizzix die I ever bought) and have a little fun experimenting with my embossing powders and distress crayons. I cut a set of Gadget Gears with Sizzix Little Sizzles White Mat Board.Β I heat embossed a coat of Emerald Creek Craft SuppliesΒ Era Hammered Metal Embossing Powder.Β This thick powder leaves open spots to add color.Β I wanted to see if the distress crayons would work to create a weathered patina on the gears. On the set of gears I used Ranger distress crayons vintage photo, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers and peeled paint.Β The distress crayons fill in the areas the thick embossing powders donβt.Β Once the colors are filled in I used a baby wipe to remove…

Hello again, Nicole here and I am back to share this woody tag I made to show off the Sizzix Evergreen die.Β I love to get the most out of my dies and think of different ways I can use them.Β I love to create layers and texture along the way. I spritzed watercolor paper water then sprayed RangerΒ Distress Spray Stain peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron.Β I cut the greens from the tattered pinecone die and added a few forest moss Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock greens too.Β Then I glued them all to a piece of matboard then ran it through on the Evergreen die.Β Creating this 3D Tree. I stamped the Kraft tag with using picket fence distress paint then inked the edges with ground espresso.Β With some scrap inked up watercolor paper I cut out βMomentsβ from the Handwritten Journey Thinlit.Β I used this Idea-Ology Flashcard trimmed…
