Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a quick and easy technique you can use with your stamped images. It all started with some Tombow Dual Brush pens and a really pretty Impression Obsession stamp. I used a Clearsnap black pigment ink and stamped onto Canadian Scrapbooker superstock, which is a nice heavy weight to stand up to this wet technique. Then I slowed right down and coloured in the lines. After making a Mother’s Day card with this pretty coloured image, I decided to try something different. I thought, hey, let’s try a watercolour effect because these wonderful Tombow pens are water based and blendable. So I basically scribbled colours all over this stamped image, not worrying about staying in the lines and then spritzed it all over with water. And it’s that easy! Just let dry or use your heat gun to speed up the process. I made…

Kim here with a post today on a cause that has become near and dear to Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine’s team. You may have already noticed on our blog and Facebook page; a link to “Hope for Haiti”. We also have a full page dedicated to the cause in our magazine, in hopes that OUR scrapbooking community can rally together and help raise the funds required to build an ART ROOM for the under privileged children living in the outskirts of Cap Haitien. This art room would be a roof-top adjunct to a school being built with the help of volunteers like our team member Alison Orthner. She has joined forces with LIVE DIFFERENT and CANADIAN SCRAPBOOKER magazine in efforts to make this dream become a reality. A place where these children can leave the hardships of their life for a short time and create beautiful art and music. Every child…

Hello everyone! Kim Gowdy here!!!! It’s January and I’m already behind! Actually I was late getting my November 2014 Sketchy Challenged done, so really THAT doesn’t count! No worries I’ll get behind in 2015 too! My point is…it doesn’t matter! Scrapbooking is meant to be fun. It’s my time to escape the routine and sometimes chaos of daily life. Lucky for you, we keep our sketches in an online gallery that is ALWAYS available for you to browse and use! Just because we put a date on it, certainly doesn’t mean you need to create with it at that time! …so here I am to reveal my layout for November’s sketch. Our sketches are designed by the talented Sue Sykes. Play with them and share how they have inspired you! Remember…our Sketchy Gallery is open 24/7! Happy Sunday everyone!

Hi everyone, Karen Ellis here… I thought I’d show you a little something that I’ve been playing with in the studio recently. Stamping on cardboard!  I absolutely LOVE doing this. I use flat corrugated cardboard sheets for this so that it’s a hard, flat, not creased surface but you can use recycled cardboard too – just be sure to use a smooth piece. First, you’ll need to GESSO the front of your cardboard.  This does two things: makes a white surface to stamp on so, however you colour it later, the colour will be bright and vivid.  It will also make the cardboard less porous so you’ll use less paint/ink and you’ll have a little more playtime with it! Then go ahead and stamp your favourite images using a permanent stamping ink (I use Ranger’s Archival Inks).  Be sure heat set the ink or let it completely dry to avoid…
