Hi everyone – Karen Ellis here! My friend Sheri inspired me to play around with Tombow Markers and white embossing powder this week and I wanted to show you the results …. cause I LOVE it! HAHA Here’s what I used: Tombow Markers – Assorted Colours One of my favourite rubber stamp sets (Catherine Scanlon Designs, Art Gone Wild) Perfect Medium Ink (Ranger Industries) or your favourite embossing ink. White embossing powder Watercolour postcard (Strathmore) or other watercolour paper a waterbrush (not pictured) Heat Gun (not pictured) The first thing to do is emboss a stamped image onto the back of the watercolour postcard with your embossing ink and stamp.Β Β  Heat to set and get ready to colour!! The embossing acts as a resist to the ink and water.Β Β  Go ahead and colour a portion of your stamp with the markers and then, with a wet brush, drag the ink…

Hi Everyone!Β  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share my layout based on the September Sketchy Challenge. Here is my sketch: I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft collection “Botanica.” Actually, these products were in my September kit from ScrapShotz. With this Kaisercraft stamp set and Β “Avocado” ink, I added a subtle pattern of leaves to the solid green paper layers. When you stamp several times or ‘values’ without reloading with ink, you can create your own patterned paper (learned from the great ink queen herself, Cathie Allan!) The leaves are cut with my Brother ScanNCut machine After cutting them from mixed media paper, I watercoloured them with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I also used my Tombow pens for hand letteringΒ  my title “Hello.” Here is a video on my YouTube channel that shows how I created the watercolour leaves. https://youtu.be/Yhj_8jnlzHM I would love to see what you create with my…

Our latest web show is now up on our YouTube channel.Β  Kelly Klapstein shows you how to create this beautiful watercolour card using Heartfelt Creations, Spellbinders, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LΒ and Clearsnap. Watch the video and see how easy it is to create this gorgeous watercolour effect! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAzjGM1tEiY

Welcome to our guest blogger, Laurie Finch, who is sharing her love of Pocket Letters! Today I wanted to tell you about my newest obsession – Pocket Letters! And specifically, mixed media pocket letters. Have you seen these? Little trading card sized pockets of creative fun, sent around the world through a network of like-minded artists. You craft cards to fit in the nine pockets of a trading card protector sheet, slip some extra crafting goodies and a nice, chatty letter in the back and it folds neatly in 3 and fits in a standard business size envelope for mailing. I love this idea! It’s like combining all the best parts of penpals, papercrafting, RAK (random acts of kindness) and art work in one! So let’s get started! I taped an 8 x 11” piece of heavyweight watercolour paper to my work surface so that the wet mediums don’t make…

Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today with an easy watercolour technique you can use on a card or other crafty project. I created this card with a beautiful Magenta stamp, Chameleon Pens, and a Sizzix embossing folder using Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock paper. First, I inked up my Magenta stamp with Clearsnap Colorbox white pigment ink, and stamped and heat embossed onto white Superstock. Β I wanted a white outline background to colour in. Magenta rubber stamps have gorgeous, intricate details that show up perfectly when stamped! To create a watercolour effect, I took out my set of Chameleon Pens. These alcohol ink pens are amazing! You have all shades or tones of colour in a single pen. So for the yellow petals, I coloured in gradations of yellow because the Chameleon pen allows you to add toner to the pen nib with a couple of easy steps. Β There’s a LOT…

The Tombow booth at the Craft & Hobby tradeshow has LOTS of team spirit! Many scrapbookers love Tombow adhesive, and their newest Xtreme High Performance Permanent Adhesive tape runner is exactly what it delivers….extremely strong bonds for all kinds of applications. Even mixed media artists are happy with its powerful adhesion! For dimension, there is Foam Tape and 3D Foam Tabs: The Tombow Adhesive Dots are packaged as individual pieces that are COLOURED!Β  That’s right…you will easily see your Adhesive Dot! You can also use these for embellishments, just as shown in the centre of these flowers dusted with glitter. Including all the adhesive products, Tombow also has an amazing selection of markers, pencils and pens. For anyone who loves to draw and colour, with or without stamps, Tombow has everything you need…and more! The Dual Brush Pens are water-based ink and are super popular! There is a marker/pen set…

Watercolouring is everywhere right now, and I am just drinking up all its wonder and glory. I want to show you how amazingly quick and easy these cards are!! To create this card you have three simple steps: On watercolour paper, stamp an image with Versamark and heat emboss it with white embossing powder. Apply heat with your heat gun. Stamp your block with your ink pad. Fill your aqua painter brush with water. Dip brush in ink and colour on your paper using brush strokes (see supply picture below) Use a heat gun to dry if you want but it’s not necessary. Gently wipe off any ink on your stamped image.Voila!! To up the stakes a little bit, this next card was created by inking the stamp and then misting the inked stamp with water. You can ink the stamp using markers or refill ink – whatever you prefer.…
