Hi friends! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here, and I’m so excited that Summer has actually arrived in the Northern hemisphere! To celebrate, Creative Memories has released a fantastic summer collection called Citrus Summer! It’s full of saturated summer colors and delicious patterns, images, and icons and I knew it would be just perfect to use with some photos of my boys and me at the water park from a few summers ago.   I love the look of a word-art cut-file, so I created one to share with all of you who visit the Creative Scrapbooker Blog!  The “Summer Fun!” cut-file is available for FREE in the shop on my own Blog, or on the Free Projects Tab of the Creative Scrapbooker website! Just download the zipped file to your computer and extract the cut-file image in JPG, PNG and SVG file formats. Then, follow the instructions for your electronic cutting machine (Cricut, Silhouette, Brother ScanNCut etc.) to cut the word-art to whatever size you need, and from whatever solid or patterned paper you like!   For my own Summer Fun! Layout, I started with a 12” x 12” piece of Red Cardstock as the base. I cut a 9” x 11” rectangle of the blue bathing beauties paper with the 12” Trimmer and the Wave Blade and layered it on top, placing it on a bit of an angle.
Then I cut the Summer Fun! image from White Cardstock at 9” high on my Cricut machine. The great thing about this cut-file is that when you pull it off the cutting mat, the “leftovers” are letters that you can actually use! It’s like getting two titles in one cut!  After removing it from the cutting mat, I backed the Summer Fun! die cut with a variety of the bright papers from the Citrus Summer Paper Pack. I used the Repositionable Adhesive which works so well on more detailed projects like these, and then placed the whole thing on top of the bathing beauties paper.
I trimmed the three photos of my boys and me to 3.5” x 3.5” and matted them onto more White Cardstock. Then I mounted them onto the layout with Foam Squares so they would really stand up and out from the background.
I completed the page by adding a few of the super-cute Citrus Summer Stickers and just a bit of journaling written with my Black Dual-Tip Pen. Easy, fast and SO much fun! Here are a couple of details… I love looking back on all the fun my boys and I have had in previous summers, and I can’t wait to see what this summer brings.
