Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! For today’s blogpost, I’m sharing with you how to create these Be Merry & Joy Christmas Cards which uses the Mix & A-Mingle Collection from Simple Stories Super Stock Cardstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and learn how to recreate my cards at home. To start, we will create the Joy Christmas Card first.
Out of the 6×8 Mix & A-Mingle Paper Pad from Simple Stories, you’ll need the red branch paper, pink base poinsettia paper, mint dot paper, and star border paper. Cut the red branch paper to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and a second piece that measures 1 ¼” x 4 ¼”. Cut the pink base poinsettia paper to 4” x 5 ¼”. Cut the mint dot paper to 3 3/4” x 5”. Cut the star border paper to 1” x 3 ¾”. Distress the edges of all of the pieces. Next, you’ll need the House Journaling piece and green label out of the Mix & A-Mingle Journal Bits from Simple Stories. Fussy cut around the house and label. Out of the Mix & A-Mingle Bits & Pieces from Simple Stories, you’ll need the Joy word, two ornaments, and star border. Fussy cut around the two ornaments. Out of the Mix & A-Mingle Page Pieces from Simple Stories, you’ll need three stars. Fussy cut around the three stars. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 4” patterned paper piece to the 4 ¼” patterned paper piece. Adhere the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece to the 4” patterned paper piece. Staple the 1” strip to the 1 ¼” strip as desired. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the stapled strips ¼” from the right and 3/8” from the top of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the house ¼” from the left and 1 1/8” from the top of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Use E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the two ornaments to the right of the house as desired. Staple the star border to the bottom portion of the green label as desired. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the green label 1” from the left and 1 ¼” from the bottom of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Adhere a pink star underneath the top left corner of the green label using a Dodz from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the Joy word 3/8” from the left and 1/2” from the bottom of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Adhere the two remaining stars to the bottom right corner of the Joy word as desired using Dodz from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Add five Mix & A-Mingle Enamel Dots from Simple Stories as desired on the card front. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 4 1/4” x 11” and score at 5 ½”. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase. Now we will create the Be Merry Christmas Card.
Out of the 6×8 Mix & A-Mingle Paper Pad from Simple Stories, you’ll need the red dot paper, blue base poinsettia paper, star border paper, mint dot paper and the 3×4 cards with the plaid print on the other side. Cut the red dot paper to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. Cut the blue base poinsettia paper to 4” x 5 ¼”. Cut the star border paper to 3 3/4” x 5”. Cut the mint dot paper to 1 ¼” x 5”. Cut out one of the 3×4 cards. Distress the edges of all of the pieces. Next, you’ll need the pink Nordic print piece and pink star label out of the Mix & A-Mingle Journal Bits from Simple Stories. Distress the edges of all of the pieces. Out of the Mix & A-Mingle Page Pieces from Simple Stories, you’ll need the VW Van with Christmas Tree. Fussy cut around the van. Out of the Mix & A-Mingle Bits & Pieces from Simple Stories, you’ll need three stars and the house border strip. Fussy cut around the three stars. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 4” patterned paper piece to the 4 ¼” patterned paper piece. Adhere the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece to the 4” patterned paper piece. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the mint dot paper ¼” from the left and all the way to the top of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Adhere the pink star label 3/8” from the bottom and ¼” from the right of the 3×4 plaid paper. Adhere the 3×4 plaid paper ½” from the left and 3/8” from the top of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Staple the house border strip 3/8” from the bottom of the pink Nordic sweater piece. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the pink Nordic piece ¾” from the left and 7/8” from the top of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece . Foam square the VW Van 7/8” from the left and 5/8” from the bottom of the 3 ¾” patterned paper piece. Use Dodz from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the three stars to the top right corner of the pink Nordic sweater piece. Add four Mix & A-Mingle Enamel Dots from Simple Stories as desired on the card front. Off the Mix & A-Mingle Cardstock Stickers from Simple Stories, you’ll need the Be Merry word strip sticker. Adhere the sticker overtop of the license plate on the VW Van. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 4 1/4” x 11” and score at 5 ½”.
