Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. And took a lot of pictures. Ha! You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. Hello, Connie Nichol here with a quick layout with one of my favourite photos from a trip to the Mayan Riviera a few years ago. Just looking at it brings back the feel of the tropical sun and the smell of the ocean. Sigh. I used a couple of products from Creative Memories Travel Collection to create this layout – the solid core cardstock (I used lime green) and the matching cool serenity travel embellishments are perfect for scrapbooking beach vacation photos while the Bubbles Border maker cartridge adds a whimsical edge . I spotted a Dina Wakley Bullseye stencil from Ranger Industries in my stash and used it to create the large round embellishments which in real life have very cool texture. Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Sigh. But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Close to My Heart. The Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages come in a package of 30 double-sided, loose printed pages, and 3-ring hole punched, measuring 8 3/8” x 6 7/8”. My kids are getting older, but even as gawky teenagers, they still adore Christmas and all the special traditions that come with it. Make sure that you take a few pictures to capture the memories this Christmas, even if it is not ideal. This past Christmas we were still in the middle of renovations and the flooring had all been ripped up. Plywood is not a very conducive environment for Christmas decorating but it is still a special time of year and I’m glad to have these photos to remember it by. Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and summery scrapbook layout to lift our spirits during the dark days of November. This last week or two has been cloudy, dark and gloomy, not typical for the Canadian prairies where I live. Scrapbooking with bright colours and summer pictures helps keep my mood up. Can’t you just smell those roses? I started with a few pieces of FabScraps patterned paper. This Country Kitchen line is so pretty – I especially love the papers with sunflowers and gold finches. The papers are two sided so I used both sides of the two papers pictured below, Sunflowers and Tea Lovers. I moistened and then curled the edges of the photo mat to create some extra emphasis and stitched around the main part of the page with dark green thread. Hello, Connie Nichol here with a Halloween project featuring the Happy Haunting Collection from Simple Stories and two stamp sets from Quietfire Design. My oldest son went through the ‘ghoul’ phase when he was 9 and 10 – he wanted only to be a scary masked ghoul with a weapon. The scarier looking the weapon, the better. Sigh. Gone were the cute animal or super hero costumes. Here’s the Simple Stories mini-kit I used: This is such a great kit! Six sheets of double sided patterned paper and a 6×12 sheet of cardstock stickers is the perfect size to create a handful of Halloween layouts and cards without being overwhelmed. Here’s the Quietfire Design stamp sets I used – there are 9 stamps in the Crows set and even more in the Halloween Wicked collection! Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design. The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil. Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint? This stuff is gorgeous. And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph. (P.S. Today I am sharing some items I made using the new Jeepers Creepers paper packet from Close To My Heart! I happened to have recently purchased a pencil that came in a little test tube style container from Staples, an office supply store. Part of the proceeds from these pencils go towards “Me To We” (formerly known as Free The Children), which was a program my son got involved in a couple of years ago through the middle school he was attending at the time. Anyways, back to a closer look at my little project… Cute, right? The test tube could be filled with little candies, too. And don’t you just love the little bats? I cut them out using Black Glitter Paper and the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, both from Close To My Heart.
