Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. Β  And took a lot of pictures. Β Ha! Β You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. Β You can see how to do this step by step in the Creative Scrapbooker Technique Taster’s Web Show #105 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NnLYeAYb6A&t=6s It’s easy to do and looks very cool. I used patterned paper from the Close To My Heart Adventure Fundamentals line – so bright and colourful – and coordinating die cuts from the Good Life Fundamentals packet. Β Β …

Hi there! I’m Noreen and I’m thrilled to be here today as a guest blogger! Β I was introduced to scrapbooking at a Creative Memories home party waaaaaay back in 2001 and have been hooked ever since. I became a Creative Memories advisor in 2005 and have enjoyed helping lots and lots of women organize and share their photos. I also love helping people inject a little creativity into all their papercrafting projects! Today I’m happy to share a few project ideas featuring new products that were released by Creative Memories this month. Β The Mi Amor collection features Paper, Embellishments and Stickers that are perfect to celebrate all kinds of love – romantic love, love of family & friends, and even love of pets, home or favorite hobbies. I love the sophisticated designs and rich colors – cranberry, black and white. Β Of course Mi Amor is the perfect collection to create…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with a quick layout with one of my favourite photos from a trip to the Mayan Riviera a few years ago. Β Just looking at it brings back the feel of the tropical sun and the smell of the ocean. Β Sigh. I used a couple of products from Creative Memories Travel Collection to create this layout – Β the solid core cardstock (I used lime green) and the matching cool serenity travel embellishments are perfect for scrapbooking beach vacation photos while the Bubbles Border maker cartridge adds a whimsical edge . Β  Β Β Β  I spotted a Dina Wakley Bullseye stencil from Ranger Industries in my stash and used it to create the large round embellishments which in real life have very cool texture. I taped the stencil to a piece of cardstock and applied Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn distress inks with a sponge applicator. Then, with the…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with Β a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. Β I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Β Sigh. Β But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Β Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Β Close to My Heart. Β This paper (and other matching products) are a gorgeous and versatile black, white and gold colour and is available from theΒ Annual Inspirations Catalogue from CTMH. Β I used the Framework Alphabet Acrylic Stamps to stamp the title and the paper…

Hello!Β  Today I am sharing a mini album I created by repurposing the Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages from Close to My Heart! The Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages come in a package of 30 double-sided, loose printed pages, and 3-ring hole punched, measuring 8 3/8” x 6 7/8”.Β  They are designed to be used in the Everyday Life albums so you can whip up a quick album, but I wanted to change it up a bit…. check out my 6”x6” mini album. I added embellishments to my mini album from the City Sidewalks Complements, and a few Clear Sparkles here and there, and added colour to some of the Clear Sparkles using green and red ShinHan Touch Twin markers. What a fun way to create something completely unique! Well, that is it for me for today. Β If you don’t have a copy of the new Close To…

Hi there, Connie Nichol here today with a Christmas layout featuring the Believe Way with Words die from Elizabeth Crafts Designs, the Merry & Bright Christmas collection from Bo BunnyΒ and a Quietfire Design stamp with a beautiful quote. Β My kids are getting older, but even as gawky teenagers, they still adore Christmas and all the special traditions that come with it. Β Make sure that you Β take a few pictures to capture the memories this Christmas, even if it is not ideal. Β This past Christmas we were still in the middle of renovations and the flooring had all been ripped up. Β Plywood is not a very conducive environment for Christmas decorating but it is still a special time of year and I’m glad to have these photos to remember it by. I actually started with the December sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy gallery. Β It’s a card sketch, but there’s no…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and summery scrapbook layout to lift our spirits during the dark days of November. Β This last week or two has been cloudy, dark and gloomy, not typical for the Canadian prairies where I live. Β Scrapbooking with bright colours and summer pictures helps keep my mood up. Β Can’t you just smell those roses? I started with a few pieces of FabScraps patterned paper. Β This Country Kitchen line is so pretty – I especially love the papers with sunflowers and gold finches. Β The papers are two sided Β so I used both sides of the two papers pictured below, Sunflowers and Tea Lovers. Β I moistened and then curled the edges of the photo mat to create some extra emphasis and stitched around the main part of the page with dark green thread. I fussy cut a few extra sunflowers and mounted them with dimensional foam…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with a Halloween project featuring the Happy Haunting Collection from Simple Stories and twoΒ stamp sets from Quietfire Design. Β My oldest son went through the ‘ghoul’ phase when he was 9 and 10 – he wanted only to be a scary masked ghoul with a weapon. Β The scarier looking the weapon, the better. Β Sigh. Gone were the cute animal or super hero costumes. Here’s the Simple Stories mini-kit I used: This is such a great kit! Β Six sheetsΒ of double sided patterned paper and a 6×12 sheet of cardstock stickers is the perfect size to create a handful of Halloween layouts and cards without being overwhelmed. Here’s the Quietfire Design stamp sets I used – there are 9 stamps in the Crows set and even more in the Halloween Wicked collection! Β It’s nice to have so many stamps to choose from – big and little, crows facing right…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design. Β The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil. Β Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint? Β This stuff is gorgeous. Β And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph. Β (P.S. By the way, especially for Canadians, I had this 8×8Β photoΒ enlargement printed at www.blacks.ca for 99 cents on a sale last month. Β I am super…

Today I am sharing some items I made using the new Jeepers Creepers paper packet from Close To My Heart! I happened to have recently purchased a pencil that came in a little test tube style container from Staples, an office supply store.Β  Part of the proceeds from these pencils go towards β€œMe To We” (formerly known as Free The Children), which was a program my son got involved in a couple of years ago through the middle school he was attending at the time. Anyways, back to a closer look at my little project… Cute, right?Β  The test tube could be filled with little candies, too.Β  And don’t you just love the little bats?Β  I cut them out using Black Glitter Paper and the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, both from Close To My Heart.Β  For the test tube holder, I found instructions to make it here at Splitcoaststampers:Β  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/testtubeholder/ The…
