EEK… Halloween is coming and all things spooky!  Hello my pretties Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog sharing this rich Halloween inspired card with this bold punch of colour. I have fallen in love with the Clearsnap carrot dye mini ink pad! There’s a fun team up this week with Xyron and Clearsnap.  I got a little yummy box of Premium Dye Mini Ink Pads and to my delight there was Carrot and Coal in there. I used the Carrot Premium Dye Mini Ink Pads ink and blended, blended and more blending.  BAM… Now that’s a rich orange.  I hauled out my Stamp Platform for precision!  I wasn’t about to the ruin this inky masterpiece! In July I was in LasVegas so of course I had to go to Viva Las Vegas Stamps where I found lots and lots… and lots of yummy stamps including the Tree Writing Collage.  I cut my “Wicked Halloween”, perfect for the Sticker…

Hi everyone Noreen Smith here today.  So glad to be on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today to share a not-so-spooky double page Halloween layout I created with Creative Memories’ Toil and Trouble Collection! It is really the cutest Halloween collection I’ve seen in a long time and I am loving the color scheme – the various oranges paired with the aqua and turquoise are so refreshing, and I really like that there are some versatile floral and geometric patterns that don’t scream Halloween! The collection features a Paper Pack, Stickers, a foiled Album cover and – wait for it – PHOTO-SAFE WASHI TAPE! Yes! Leave it to Creative Memories to make a photo-safe washi tape that we can feel good using on our archival scrapbook pages! I’m also thrilled about the return of an old favorite – the Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge. If you have the original Pumpkin BMC,…

Ghoultide Greetings Mixed Media Wall Hanging By Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Halloween right around the corner I thought that it would be fun to share with you how to create a mixed media wall hanging piece as a perfect home décor addition to any spot in your home. Using stamps, charms and embossing powders from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and pairing them with Ranger Ink products, I was able to create a fun piece. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate it in the comforts of your own home. To start, you’ll need a 5 ½” x 5 ½” wood piece. I managed to pick one up that was already meant to be used as a wall hanging. Once you have your piece in front of you, you’ll need to apply 2…

Sweet & Spooky Halloween Layouts by Karla Yungwirth Hi there crafty friends! Karla here today from Creative Love Affair, and I am so so super excited to be a Guest Designer today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! It is an amazing honor! Today, I’m sharing some Halloween photos I’ve scrapbooked from a few years ago using the Bo Bunny Wonderfully Wicked Collection. It definitely is wonderful and spooky, and so fun to play with! These pictures were taken when my now 9 year old daughter, Amie, was 4 – and this year, before we even looked at these pics, my now 4 year old, Erica, decided to wear this exact costume – which her cousin had worn when she was this age! Now, to find those photos! That’s one of the reasons I love scrapbooking – looking through older pictures, remembering, and getting family talking about what they remember.…

Hello! It’s Kim here on the blog today! Just wanted to share a Halloween themed layout with you using some of my “new” favourite products! I was recently introduced to Magenta’s Nuance powders and I think I just may be developing a crush on them! I used them on this layout to create the background. I first applied a thin layer of Gesso to my Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock. This “primes” the page making it less porous, which in turn allows for longer working time with some products! I spritzed the paper with water in the areas I want to apply colour, then tap some Nuance powders on the area and spritz with more water. Sometimes I would jiggle the page to move the colour, sometimes move it with a heat gun and sometimes dap it with paper towel to soften the colour. In other words…JUST PLAY! I layered the FabScraps’…

Connie Nichol has been very busy on the Quietfire Design blog today! Check out Connie’s layout they featured on their blog today Supplies:   Stampin Up patterned paper, cardstock, Crystal effects and washi tape,  QuietFire Design stamps and digital cutting files,  Clearsnap ink, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Happy Monday!

Hi everybody, Connie Nichol here. Halloween is fast approaching, bringing to mind ghouls, goblins, ghosts and all things spooky. My kids love this time of year, especially the dressing up in costumes part, although the abundance of treats collected door to door doesn’t hurt either. Stampin’ Up! has so many cute Halloween themed products in their holiday catalogue. I especially adore the Motley Monsters designer series patterned paper.  The patterns and colours are fun and bright, so the resulting projects are cheery and upbeat. Here’s the layout I created using some of these papers. I cut a few cardstock leaves with the Fun Fall Framelit dies but most of the interesting stuff on the page is from fussy cut elements from the patterned papers themselves.  I cut out extra tree trunks and layered them onto the base sheet of patterned paper using dimensional adhesive (doubling up the adhesive to add…

Hi Everyone…or should I say, “Happy Halloween!” It’s Kelly here to share a layout. Do you have you have your costumes ready and spooky décor around the house?  I know I have some cobwebs here and there! ha ha ha Here is a Halloween layout I designed using Simple Stories’ fun “Frankie and Friends” collection, along with some awesome Sizzix dies. I based my design on Sue Sykes’ October Sketch. Have you been playing with her sketches and uploading your layouts to our Sketchy gallery? Here are the three Sizzix dies I used: I die cut them from American Crafts glitter paper… love the sparkle! Beacon Adhesives is great for adhering these pieces: I bent the bat wings for added dimension and just glued their heads down. With white and black markers, I added faux stitching around the title and other cut paper elements. It’s never too late to create a layout based on…

JUST KEEPING IT “SCARILY” SIMPLE AND HANDSOME TOO! It’s Halloween and time for trick or treating.  Therefore, I decided to  “treat” myself by creating this fun Halloween card and then using the same basic techniques, supplies and stamps  (okay, so I changed one, lol), I then treated myself a second time to this wonderful scrapbook page that bears the photo of my “grandhandsomeson” Liam.   I kept it basic, all the inking techniques are simple and truly easy to learn and I know everyone can do them. If you have Volume #6 of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics and/or you follow my articles in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, you probably recognize the techniques I used. Basically I smeared  my way to a great background using colors from the Provence, petal point from Clearsnap and this great brick background from the fine folks at Magenta. I used the same background for both the card…
