Hello everyone! Thanks for joining me on the Creative Scrapbooker blog today! As I was looking through the papers of Creative Memories โ€œForever Yoursโ€ collection; I paused at the journal card I have used on this layout, and started looking at the papers and embellishments so much differently. These papers didnโ€™t lend themselves to only wedding pages and so began the starting point for my layout! I sorted through to get a general idea of which patterns I wanted to work with and I knew from the get go I wanted to make dimensional flowers from the embellishment pack! This collection has lots of lovely patterned paper as well as a coordinating vellum pack. Once I had my picture chosen and a basic idea of where to place things I started to play with building the flowers! I stacked, curled, bent and glued the pieces and LOVE how they turned…

A look back to Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Spring 2015. Christy Riopel designed this layout – Friendships are Stitched – featuring Graphic 45 patterned paper. I absolutely love how she created the title, stitching the letters and then highlighting them with a charcoal pencil. Gorgeous. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.Creative Scrapbooker Magazine is honoured to announce that we have started an ART Scholarship in Christy’s name. For those of you interested in honouringย Christy Riopel and helping her legacy of ART continue, we are collecting donations for art scholarships for youth through the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary. Christy Riopel was a regular guest on our biweekly SHAW TV series that we also turned into web shows for our YouTube channel. In this show Christy demonstrates all different kinds of ways to use stencils on your layouts as well as creating your very own custom spray.ย SUPPLIES: ย FabScraps patterned paper, Stampinโ€™ Up! cardstock, ink and adhesives, Elizabeth Craft Designs dies, Tombow Mono Liquid Adhesive. Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here with one sketch – three different projects.ย This is a good sketch for a big or dominant photo that really tells your story. The curvy diagonal lines create movement and energy.ย Supplies: ย Creative Memories Cap and Gown Collection, Clearsnap ColorBox ink and embossing powder, ย Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Stampin’ Up! gold thread, Studio Calico brad. An old Colleague of mine posted her graduation photos on Facebook one day and I instantly had an urge to scrap them. The Cap and Gown collection from Creative Memories has several โ€œ2107โ€ embellishments but itโ€™s really a versatile collection. The colors work really well with vintage photos.ย  I glammed it up a bit with gold embossing powder and shiny brads and thread. The papers held up well to mix media techniques. And the coordinating album is a really classy. ย Supplies: Donna Salazar for ย Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L ย Denim Art Journal and…

This week we are looking WAY back to the Summer 2013 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Christy Riopel spent a number of years on the Magenta design team. We loved her creations using their products and often featured them in our Whats Cool in Canada section – now known as our MUST LIST. ย Here is one fun example. I have wanted to create this layout for some time. This photo was the inspiration. The young man on the left hand side is my Dad, and is you look closely he’s holding a bunny in his ball glove. I am so glad that I waited until I had the Tim Holtz for Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to play with. Here is how I added the rust like colouring to the background and the largest rusty photo mat. I used watercolour paper and Ranger ย Distress Oxide Inks to create this rust like background. To do this you need a non stick craft mat. Stamp the ink directly onto the craft mat, spray with water and mix with your fingers. Then dip the paper into the ink/water mixture. Dry with a heat gun. Then do the same with the next colour of ink. Dry again with a heat gun. Do the…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the March sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sketchy galleryย and products from the beautiful Simple Stories Reset Girl line. Here’s the sketch. ย I know I’m a month late, but hey, sketches never expire. ย The Sketchy Gallery has the perfect sketch for any occasion. The layout was very easy to put together. ย I just took pieces of patterned paper from the Reset Girl collection, rearranged them and rotated to look sort of like the March sketch and added a few stickers to finish up. ย I also like applying washi tape to the top and bottom of the page, it just adds a little bit of ‘extra’. ย Simple and done – another memory and beautiful photograph of friends is ready for the scrapbook album. ย ย  Supplies Used: ย Simple Stories patterned paper and stickers, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive, Sakura pen. Hello Everyone! Corina Finley here with you today to share my โ€˜Simple Pleasuresโ€™ Coffee themed layout featuring Heartfelt Creations and Southern Ridge Trading Co. chipboard. I created this page to capture my Sunday morning ritual. On Sundays, my oldest son brings me my first cup of coffee of the day in bed! I get to start my day by laying back and relaxing with my dog Kuma. He thinks that the king size bed really belongs to him and sleeps whichever direction he wants! I like to start my projects by collecting the supplies that I think I will need from around my studio and having them on my work surface.ย  I do still have to grab other items as my design idea changes but I find by doing this it cut back on getting distracted. I chose to use Bazzill Java cardstock and the Coffee Bean Pattern Paper from…

Kim here today to share my take on the March Sketchy Challenge. This fun sketch was designed by the talented Kerry Engel; who shared several takes of this sketch in our Sketchy Gallery. I choose to work with this sketch while on retreat a few weeks back. I am not a productive scrapbooker at retreats because I socialize and enjoy the company around me, I find it hard to create with so much going on but wouldnโ€™t miss them for the worldโ€ฆretreats are just plain good for the soul! I used paper and die-cuts from Kaisercraftโ€™s โ€œMe Collectionโ€. It was the perfect retreat paperโ€ฆI grabbed 3 Chameleons pens and randomly coloured some of the doodles on the pageโ€ฆall while keeping up with the stories going on around me! I grabbed my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L tape runner to put everything in place! My title is made from older Tim Holtz…
