Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with some autumn inspiration for you from BoBunny and the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine October Sketchy Challenge. This monthโs sketch gives you room to tell a great photo story; it has room for four photos! The off-kilt design shakes things up a bit, creating some fun energy. I love summer colours but it was so fun to play with the rusty burgundies in this BoBunny Dreams of Autumn collection, they are so rich and yummy: almost makes me excited that fall is here. Pretty much every fall photo I have looks great with this line. One of the cool features in this collection is the page with all the single elements. I fussy cut out several of the leaves and then got messy. The results were some realistic 3D embellishments.ย After I cut out the leaves I sprayed them with water and…
If I had a choice of where to live in the entire world it would definitely be somewhere near the sea. There is just something about salty air, the song of the waves and the sweet smell of adventure. There is a cruise line somewhere whose tag line advertisement is “The Sea is Calling”…gets me everytime! ย LOL! ย BoBunny has a collection of scrapbooking supplies called Down By the Sea. I love the colours of this line and all the fun embellishments that have ย a fishy, salty theme, especially the mermaids! LOVE IT! Tracy Mclennon has taken the BoBunny Down By The Sea collection and used it to design her take on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine monthly sketch challenge. Here is the September sketch that Tracy used. This just might be one of my most favourite sketches that Kerry has created, its such a cool concept. I have been enjoying seeing all…

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here! With the start of a new month – brings us our monthly sketch challenge. Here is July’s sketch… Six photos on one page! This is a great layout for telling a visual story. Clustering the pics tightly on the left and keeping the right side empty balances the design. Succulent Summer LayoutMy daughter and I have a lot of succulents. The Simple Stories Summer Days Collection was perfect for our springtime ritual. I created the โsucculentโ title and white border (based on the sketch) on my cutting system. I filled in the flowers with different papers from the collection.ย I stained the title and edged things with green Clearsnap ColorBox ink to finish it off. Supplies: Simple Stories Summer Days collection, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Clearsnap ColorBox ink. Art Journal PageThis page is just layers and layers of Ranger oxide inks. I colored the cut…

Inspired by Sketches! My life is more hectic than I can keep up with much of the time and I treasure the opportunities I get to be creative and create wonderful capsules for my familyโs memories. I love sketches as a great โget me startedโ tool. Sometimes the result looks a lot like the sketch and sometimes not, but it really does not matter either way! Here are my takes on three ย of Creative Scrapbooker Magazineโs sketches. March 2017 Supplies Used: BoBunny patterned paper, Southern Ridge Trading Co chipboard, Websterโs Pages letter stickers, Apple Pie memories acrylic arrows. I would like to point out that the arrow labeled โnot a keeperโ is pointing to the too small fish and not my husband, as someone who saw it in person thought! April 2017Supplies Used: Simple Stories patterned paper, stickers, wood pieces. Frogโs Whiskers Ink stamps (images), Stamperโs Anonymous stamp (quote). May…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the March sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sketchy galleryย and products from the beautiful Simple Stories Reset Girl line. Here’s the sketch. ย I know I’m a month late, but hey, sketches never expire. ย The Sketchy Gallery has the perfect sketch for any occasion. The layout was very easy to put together. ย I just took pieces of patterned paper from the Reset Girl collection, rearranged them and rotated to look sort of like the March sketch and added a few stickers to finish up. ย I also like applying washi tape to the top and bottom of the page, it just adds a little bit of ‘extra’. ย Simple and done – another memory and beautiful photograph of friends is ready for the scrapbook album. ย ย Supplies Used: ย Simple Stories patterned paper and stickers, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive, Sakura pen. Good day Creative Scrapbookers!ย Jayme Loge here with a quick post of my layout based on the Creative Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge November 2016 sketch. I love using sketches to get me started, and my process generally goes like this: Choose my photo Search my stash for papers and embellishments that compliment the picture(s). Grab the sketch and go! Depending on the day, the resulting layout can be quite a bit like the sketch or nothing at all like it! The latter happened here: Supplies: Bo Bunny patterned paper, stickers and embellishments, Prima alphabet stickers. The majority of my layout was put together using the Bo Bunny Soiree collection. The tiered rectangles ended up overlapping and becoming a shabby layered background, and the sketch took a 180 degree turn! I never worry about how close my result looks compared to the sketch though. My mantra is that the sketch is…
