When I first picked up a brush pen 3 years ago and began practicing lettering, I quickly started to think about how I could teach others how to learn this beautiful art form of calligraphy. Soon I developed my own set of tracing worksheets (just like I used in elementary school) that would help others develop the skills to write pretty letters. Then American Crafts came along, and we collaborated to design an entire product line of pens, workbooks, practice journals and more that would make learning calligraphy easy and fun. Now I can teach workshops with my own Kelly Creates pens and workbooks! If you can’t attend a workshop, here is what you need to learn brush lettering: Workbooks, a Practice Pad, and The Deluxe Lettering Kit, which has both large and small brush tip pens for both workbooks. You could also use the Dream Pens (large brush tip)…

Hello everyone – Jayme Loge here with Tuesday with the Team! My kid is a bookworm, and when I saw Bo Bunny’s Beautiful Dreamer paper line, I knew it was meant just for her! Not only do I love the colour scheme, the book and imaginative images are wonderful. I paired the paper with Creative Scrapbooker’s October 2016 sketch: I am currently having a very serious love affair with the Ranger Dylusions paints and so decided to use them to create the background shapes on my layout. I laid down my stencil and applied the paint with a paper towel, ‘ishing’ the circle shape. I used three colors that coordinated with the paper. I added a little of the green around the edges of the paper and lightly smooshed throughout the background for just a bit more texture. Once the paint was dry, I built my layout on top. One…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with an 8 1/2 x 11 layout that I created when I was looking through older pictures and remembering Christy Riopel. I just love this stamped quote from Quietfire Design. It is so true and it made me smile and weep at the same time. Some people that come into your lives make such an impression that you are grateful that you have known them. The Remember word die and the stitched oval dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs, while the papers and stickers are from American Crafts. I liked the brightness and the happiness of the patterns and the colours from this Rise and Shine paper line – perfect for creating a scrapbook layout about happy memories. Remember to always cherish your friends and family and hold them close because they might not always be there. Supplies Used: American Crafts patterned paper…

Hello Everyone! Karen Ellis here, back from a fabulous weekend at ScrapFest in Kitchener, Ontario. Cathie Allan and I taught some “Technique Tasters” in the Creative Scrapbooker booth and I wanted to show you what I taught here. Cause it was Groovin! I, with the help of Art-C, wanted to get the Groove Tool in the hands of our Scrapbookers – have as many people try it out and see for themselves if it’s a tool for them. It’s a fun, hand-held battery operated painting, inking and distressing tool that applies ink and paint to projects with ease! There are 4 different attachments: a brush tool for painting, a foam attachment for inking and two sand paper heads – fine and course for distressing. Pretty Cool! This tool is handy to have everyone’s tool box but those of you who have carpel tunnel or other hand and wrist aches will…
