Hello! Kim here with a layout I worked on after Christmas. I used our January Sketchy Challenge, designed by Kelly Klapstein. It was a great jumping point to get back in the groove after a creative hiatus over the holidays. For my projects I used the Bo Bunny “Whiteout” Collection along with elements from the co-ordinating Ephemera pack available with the collection. It was all part of a monthly kit I purchase from Scrap Shotz out of Calgary. I laughed when I saw Kelly’s layout…she used the same collection! I promise this was by coincidence [great minds think alike…] Here is a quick detail shot of some of the yumminess found in this collection…a little glitter for winter layouts is perfect! The word stickers are older Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers that never go out of style. For my journalling I used a Micron Pigment Marker by Sakura. These markers come…
Hello everyone! Kelly Klapstein here to share my take on the January sketch Challenge. Our family spent a wonderful 3 days of the Christmas break in Jasper, so I snapped lots of photos and wanted to scrapbook them. I love this shot of my son and his girlfriend, hockey sticks in hand, skating on the outdoor lake with the mountains in the background. I used the new BoBunny winter collection “White Out.” It is such an awesome collection for any winter layout! The collection comes with papers, stickers, ephemera, die cuts, buttons, etc. all matching to make designing the layout really easy. For my title, I hand lettered the word “Frozen” with a Tombow Dual Brush pen and then scanned it and cut it out with my Brother ScanNCut machine. I also designed this cute snowflake heart with the Brother ScanNCut and cut it out from Canadian Scrapbooker SuperStock.…
Another month, another Sketchy Challenge! I stayed pretty true to Sue’s design, but still feel I made it my own! I decided to to pick my papers first and pictures last…not always the easiest starting point. I choose to create my layout using the BoBunny “Safari” collection. As I played with the patterns and sketch I remembered I had a few pictures kicking around from my teenage days in Germany. I choose to use one from school trip to the Berlin! My journalling is tucked behind the upper corner of my picture. I used two 3×4 journal cards included in the collection; folded in half. So I challenge you to go forth and create with this awesome sketch! Don’t forget to share on our Sketchy Gallery! Kim Gowdy
Today on our blog we welcome Gabrielle Pollacco from Ontario, a talented scrapbooker and crafter who designs for Bo Bunny! Hi there! My name is Gabrielle Pollacco. I’ve been on the Bo Bunny design team for about 5 years now. Why would I stay on a design team for so long, you may ask? You just have to see their gorgeous papers and products to know the answer to that! Every new release brings beautiful collections that just speak to me. For example, a few days ago I received the three new mid-season releases. I had a full day’s work planned, but as soon as I started digging into the lovely papers and embellishments, I literally dropped all I was doing and got to playing with the new Boardwalk collection. I just fell in love with the weathered wood paper, and thought I would use that as the backdrop for my…
Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! I have been intrigued and inspired by art journals lately. Although I am a true novice at this craft, I have been dabbling a tiny bit and learning a few techniques and about some of the main mediums. I am a dive in and give it a try kind of girl, so don’t look to me for authority on ‘how to’ and ‘you should’. If you do, you will be disappointed. BUT, if you are looking for someone to give you permission to try it out, explore and see what can happen, then I am your support team. Here are the steps to my first creation, where I figured if playing on paper and tucking it away in a book was good, then how awesome would it be to create something for the wall. Go ahead, and give it a try! What is the worst that can…

I am drawn to books like a thirsty traveler to an oasis. I read every night before bed and if I can’t for some reason, I have a difficult time settling into sleep. I love the tactile feel of the pages and have not yet adapted to digital formats like my husband. I love the look of text flowing across a page and disappearing into another time and place. It took several years of marriage before I could convince my husband that when I was reading, I was ‘doing something’ and that he did not need to leap to my rescue by pointing out other entertainments or ‘things to do.” I come by it honestly. My mom is a reader and in fact has a couple of rooms in her house filled with books. I remember her getting a box of books every month from some far off library, and…
Today on our blog we welcome Nadine Wachter, who is sharing some fabulous Bo Bunny Christmas cards! Happy Monday Canadian Scrapbookers! I am Nadine Wachter, and I am so grateful to be here guest blogging today. My busiest time is the Christmas season, and I can often be found buried in patterned paper. The cards that I am sharing with you today were created as a card class for Treasured Memories. The great thing about all my classes is that I also turn them into take home kits. If you’re not able to attend class you don’t have to worry about missing out. The kits come with all the product, photos & instructions that you would need to create the cards in the samples. The other great thing is the staff will mail the kits out to you. No one gets left out. (Not to toot my own horn, but I…
Yummy Bo Bunny neutrals and Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir Bendable Pencils! Materials: Bo Bunny patterned papers, stickers, flowers, wood embellishments and jewels, Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils, and blender marker, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils are so creamy and rich that they make them the perfect way to add colour to these beautiful Bo Bunny papers. I used them under my embellishments to create a beautiful peek-a-boo of warm colour. I started by drawing a line where the edge of my photo will be and then colouring in areas around it. I ran out of blending solution for the pencils, but in the pinch I discovered something fantastic!!! I used my blending Spectrum Noir Marker to polish and blend my colouring. This makes it look like water colours, but without the bubbling and wetness of traditional water colour pencils. So the next time you want a…
