Hi, there everyone, Nathalie DeSousa with you today with a very fun and colorful Christmas layout that celebrates those Sweet Good Times the season brings. For today’s post, I wanted to work with lots of colors to document a picture of my kids building their gingerbread house. So, I pulled my Vicki Boutin mixed media products and started working on the background for this page. It all started with a foundation paper that had been gessoed; I played with some Vicki Boutin Art crayons to create the watercolor background on the page. The color combination was inspired by the mints that are slowly showing around our house lately. While the background dried, all the gingerbread houses were cut from Caramel colored cardstock using a cut file from Handipaper, and then backed with white mixed media paper. In addition, the small mints that surround the cutouts were created by stamping the circles…

Merry & Bright by Simple Stories

I love a good collection and Simple Stories never disappoints. Their new “Merry & Bright” Collection has an abundance of yummy pieces: chipboard, stickers, frames, tags, wash tape and paper. Everything coordinates making layering and and creating embellishment clusters a dream. This layout is actually a large “Z”. If you squint you can see it. I was inspired by an advertisement I saw in a magazine. The page is comprised of three embellishment clusters built on three cardstock circles to create a colorful photo stack. I used an assortment of the “Bits & Pieces”, Chipboard Stickers, card-stock stickers and washi tape to create three photo-stacks. Along the bottom, I decorated a card-stock border sticker with little words. Then I mounted the vintage car on a couple of Pop-Up Dots™ by Glue Dots to give it some height. Layering these elements creates interest, depth and a bit of whimsy. It looks like my…

Hello crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here. Today I have a beautifully festive layout to share using the new Simple Vintage Christmas Collection from Simple Stories. I adore everything about this collection. The classic Christmas palette, the vintage imagery and the sheer selection of fabulous coordinating embellishments. This collection has so much crafty potential for all sorts of your holiday crafting and scrapbooking. I love to create with lots of layers, texture, and dimension. So each of these bits, pieces, and patterned layers have dimension thanks to Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, Thin 3D Foam Squares, and Crafty Foam Tape. You’ll also find the coordinating washi tape here and there adding pops of colour. Some finishing touches include gold glitter enamel dots and ivory buttons. Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! It’s hard to believe that there are only 29 days until Christmas and I’m excited to be back on the blog today sharing with you a vintage Christmas Card. The jumping off point for my project is the Simple Vintage Christmas Collection from Simple Stories as well as products from Ranger Ink and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to create my Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night Christmas Card. Grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and I will walk you through on how you can recreate my card at home. To start, you’ll need to fussy cut six hollies from the 4×6 Vertical Elements and the 4×6 Horizontal Elements paper out of the Simple Vintage Christmas Paper Pack from Simple Stories.
