Hello everyone – Vicki Wizniuk here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing a layout I created using the brand new Basics Fundamentals papers from Close to My Heart! This summer I got to meet some cousins for the first time, so that was pretty awesome!ย  I wanted to document that special moment in my life, and I created this layout to do just that. I am loving the new CTMH Heart Border Thin Cuts, which comes with two different metal die borders. ย I cut the hearts out from the Basic Fundamentals paper. It added the perfect little detail to my layout.I also used the new CTMH Family Thin Cuts die, along with White Glitter Paper for the title. The embellishments I used on my layout are the new Better Together Complements, and White Pearls. You definitely need to pick up the Basic Fundamentals collection from Close To My…

Hello everyone – Vicki Wizniuk here! Today I am sharing a few cards I created using the new Prickly Pear papers from Close to My Heart! I love the fresh and funky colour palette in this pack. For my first card, I paired the Prickly Pear papers with the Prickly Pear Cardmaking stamp set.ย  I love that these new stamp sets have matching Thin Cuts dies, making creating even that much easier! To add colour the stamped and die-cut cactus, I used my inks and small waterbrush to simply paint the colours on. Tip:ย  I like to use Black Memento ink to stamp the image, as it dries quickly and it doesnโ€™t โ€œbleedโ€ when I use my waterbrush to add the colours. I added a few sequins from the Prickly Pear Sequins pack.ย  I love how easily you can combine everything just by going by the name of the product…

I have wanted to create this layout for some time. This photo was the inspiration. The young man on the left hand side is my Dad, and is you look closely he’s holding a bunny in his ball glove. I am so glad that I waited until I had the Tim Holtz for Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to play with. Here is how I added the rust like colouring to the background and the largest rusty photo mat. I used watercolour paper and Ranger ย Distress Oxide Inks to create this rust like background. To do this you need a non stick craft mat. Stamp the ink directly onto the craft mat, spray with water and mix with your fingers. Then dip the paper into the ink/water mixture. Dry with a heat gun. Then do the same with the next colour of ink. Dry again with a heat gun. Do the…

Hello from Michelle Stewart! Iโ€™m a consultant with Close to My Heart all the way from Halifax, Nova Scotia and Iโ€™m so happy to be a guest blogger for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Today I want to share with you some cards Iโ€™ve made using 3 of the paper collections that are still currently available in our Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog. This first card is created using the Dreaminโ€™ Big Paper, and I love the color pallet for this paper collection.ย  Iโ€™ve used the Dreaminโ€™ Big cardmaking stamp for this card and fussy cut leaving a white boarder.ย  I didnโ€™t have sequins in the colour I wanted, but no big deal.ย  Just grab some alcohol markers and colour some silver ones to match. For this next card, I used this pale pink patterned paper from the Hello Lovely collection. I wanted to create a soft feminine card so I used the…

Hello from Vicki Wizniuk! Today I am sharing a single page layout I created using the Rustic Home Fundamentals papers from Close to My Heart! I seriously am in love with how versatile these papers are.ย  They are very masculine, but can also be used for a more feminine project. This layout features just a couple of the patterned papers from this fabulous paper packet, plus I added some embellishments from the My Boy Complements.ย  The perfect pairing!ย  And the black gems are from the Black & White Dots pack. ย I kept my layout quite simple, to give you an example of how you can create quick layouts with few supplies. If you donโ€™t have a copy of the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations catalog or the Seasonal Expressions 1 (mini catalog), be sure to contact your local CTMH Independent Consultant.ย  Or if you donโ€™t have a Consultant and…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a very simple layout that uses minimal supplies – basically just cardstock! ย If you have an electronic die cutting machine like the Sizzix Eclips2, you really don’t need much else. This layout is totally about the Sunflower cut file from Quietfire Design. ย I fell in love with it when I saw it, and what better page embellishment for sunflower photos? ย I was so excited last year when a friend told me about a nearby sunflower field. ย You can of course customize the colours and size of the flowers as you see fit so it is a very versatile file. I cut the flowers and the title out with a Sizzix Eclips 2. ย I opened the svg file, ungrouped the shapes and cut them out of different colours of cardstock. ย They were so pretty I didn’t want to add a lot of other ‘stuff’…
