Hi there, Connie Nichol here today trying to get organized! It’s a great New Year’s resolution!! I am going to try using a planner to organize my time in 2016 and feel like I am taking control of my hectic days. I want to show you the beautiful new planner from Close to My Heart. The planner has beautiful vibrant colours and provides lots of space to write lists, notes and details. I love the black cover with the gold embossed image and wanted the inside of my planner to look extra pretty so I customized some of the pages with some CTMH stamps and My Crush embellishments. This soccer stamp set is a very useful set for the soccer mom! Not only is it a great planner, but what I really like is that you can customize it by adding mini scrapbooking pages. Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of cards featuring the new Way with Words dies from Elizabeth Craft Design. Head on over to the Quietfire Design blog to see more details. A simple watercolour background is easy to create and makes a great backdrop for the calligraphic words. Just moisten some watercolour paper, brush with some watercolours of your choice and add the die cut word. Make it fancier by adding some sewing around the edges and some glitter dots and punched shapes from Shimmer Sheetz. Quick and easy! Supplies: Elizabeth Crafts Design Way with Words dies, watercolour paper, Shimmer Sheetz, and glitter dots, Close to my Heart watercolour paints, Brother sewing machine and Fancy Pants Designs corrugated paper.
Hi there, Connie Nichol here today with a layout I created for the Quietfire Design blog using one of their new Christmas stamps and a number of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. Elizabeth Craft Designs has a number of dies in their ‘Way with Words” collection that were designed by Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire Design. They make the most beautiful scrapbook page titles and they cut cardstock like butter. I cut a number of branches with the berry branch die to tuck under the stamped quote and then I dressed up the ‘berries’ with White Opal Liquid Pearls by Ranger. Such an easy way to add some dimension. A dot here, a dot there. And a huge selection of colours to choose from. Supplies Used: Heartfelt Creations patterned paper, Quietfire Design stamps, Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk Ink, Elizabeth Craft Designs flourish, berry branch and believe dies, Ranger Ink Liquid Pearls, Sizzix label dies…

Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout I created using the November sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge and some of the new Creative Memories products. A couple of years ago I participated in a hummingbird photography workshop in British Columbia. It was an absolutely amazing experience and I have enough hummingbird photographs to last me several lifetimes. I used patterned paper from the Creative Memories ‘Brights’ designer paper pack and the Bubbles Border Maker to dress up my paper edges a little bit. The Creative Memories Border Maker System is very unique – you slide your paper into a positioning guide where it is firmly held by a magnet and then you move a punch cartridge stepwise down the paper edge. The cartridges are interchangeable so you can easily swap out different cartridges for different borders. To make my picture pop, I used dimensional foam adhesive…

In Canada, November 11 is Remembrance Day. It is a statutory holiday in most provinces and territories in order to commemorate members of the armed forces and to remember and honour those who have fought for our country and our freedom. It’s about respecting our past and thanking those that have served. I grow many poppies in my garden and they always make me think of the iconic war poem ‘In Flanders Field’ by John McRae. To add some subtle texture and interest to the piece of Bo Bunny Heritage patterned paper, I used a Bo Bunny stickable stencil and smeared a little molding paste through it with my finger. I adore the way these stencils stick, even after repeated washings, so the molding paste ends up where it is supposed to. All the time. It can’t sneak under the stencil and make a mess. Then, I sprayed a…
