Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring Therm OΒ  Web DecoFoils and Gina K Designs Foil Mates and Simple Stories ‘I Am’ paper line. I had SO much fun playing with the foils and Foil Mates from Therm O Web.Β  My foiled masterpieces paired beautifully with the patterned paper and stickers from Simple Stories I Am collection (which have foiled accents) to create a cute scrapbook layout with a couple of photos of my baby boy. Here are the some of the Therm O Web products I used.Β  I was initially a little nervous, thinking that there might be a learning curve on how to achieve the best results, but oh my goodness, so easy!!Β  All you do is lay a piece of foil over the patterned cardstock or transparency, run it through a laminator, and presto, instant shine! And here’s the Simple Stories I am collection…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuringΒ  Brea Reese watercolor inks and FREE Dingbats! These watercolor inks are intense little bottles of color, and so much fun to use to create page backgrounds and color embellishments.Β  I had a pile of photographs from a trip to Portugal this past April and grabbed a couple of them to scrapbook.Β  Β Yes, I am old school and print out most of the pictures that I take, so I always have lots of 4×6 photographs on my desk. I created the middle part of the page by simply wetting a square of watercolor paper with water, and then brushing with a few drops of yellow and blue Brea Reese watercolor inks.Β  Β The colors spread across the wet watercolor paper to give a beautiful effect. For the fruit embellishments, I printed out fruit dingbats from a free font called KR Fruitsy onto…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with an easy birthday card made from an Art Impressions stamp and die set.Β  Β  Art Impressions has a huge selection of different interactive stamp sets which need to be pulled, unfolded, twisted, spun or shaken.Β  Go check them out. The designs will be sure to bring a big smile to your face.Β  Β  Who doesn’t love to get a card that flutters or wobbles? I played with the Birthday Fairy set to create a couple of cards – the set comes with the stamps, dies and an action ‘wobble’.Β  You can see from the side photo that the fairy’s skirt is dimensional and mobile.Β Here’s another slightly different version of the Birthday Fairy card in royal blue. Here’s the stamp set: I stamped the fairy and her skirt with Clearsnap Top Boss ink and embossed with black embossing powder.Β  I find that embossing an image…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today.Β  I never thought I would be a football mom, but my youngest son decided to play football when he was 14, so here I am.Β  I’m still learning about the game, but I’m now a proud football fan with a million football photos.Β Β Fortunately, Simple Stories has a Football Collection kit with some beautiful themed patterned papers and stickers. Besides football, Simple Stories has other themed collections available, so if you are a baseball, basketball, soccer, cheer, or dance mom, be sure to check them out. I wanted a big football to embellish the layout, so I downloaded a free dingbat from a font called ‘Balls, Balls and More Balls’ and printed an extra large football onto a piece of white cardstock.Β  I cut it out and then adhered it with foam adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to give it some extra dimension. There is…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring mountains and winter.Β  Β Β Β IΒ  know I seem to be on a bit of a Lake Louise scrapbooking binge lately, but it’s purely random and l only typically visit Lake Louise once a year.Β  I happened to see thisΒ Quietfire DesignΒ quote stamp about dark pointed firs and was totally inspired to create a layoutΒ  around it with pictures I snapped last month when I visited the mountains with my teenager.Β  The trees were SO pretty after a huge snowfall!Β  I loved the quote so much I found the rest of it on the internet in the Total Works of Lucy Maud Montgomery: The night was clear and frosty, all ebony of shadow and silver of snowy slope; big stars were shining over the silent fields; here and there the dark pointed firs stood up with snow powdering their branches and the wind…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with a romantic layout just in time for Valentine’s Day. Β I was cleaning up my craft room when I came across this photograph of my parents from about 28 years ago – they look so young and so happy. This layout came together very quickly. Β  I had a few pieces of patterned paper on my desk from a South African company called Penelope Dee.Β Β Β  I saw their products for the first time at Creativation last month in Phoenix and the designs are simply gorgeous. Β This patterned paper was Β SO perfect for this photo Β and then I saw a scrapbook sketch designed by Laura Whitaker on Facebook. Β  Isn’t this a great sketch? Β It certainly speeds up the scrapbooking process when somebody has done most of the design work for you! For the page title and for extra embellishments, I used two different sets of Β theΒ Way…

Hello, Connie Nichol here withΒ  more photos from some of the lovely booths at Creativation in Phoenix last week. The Chameleon Pens booth displayed their unique and innovative colour tone pens and color tops, pencils and Blendy pens .Β  The artwork that can be created with these pens and pencils is truly stunning!Β  I am inspired every time I see what can be created. ClearsnapΒ always has lots of delicious looking inks in their booth (including my favourite chalk inks).Β  A few other things in the Clearsnap booth caught my eye.Β  I can’t wait to try the powder spray bottle.Β  You put your glitter or embossing powder into the bottle and gently pump the handle for a controlled application of your powder to the area to which it is meant to be applied (as opposed to your counter, floor, cats and kids).Β  I also can’t wait to try the multi media…

Hello Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring Wild Whisper Designs patterned paper and an elegant Β Quietfire Design stamped quote.Β  Wild Whisper is a new company out of Calgary Alberta and they design beautiful and unique 12×12 double sided paper collections and paper scrapbooking cards. I had this photograph from a family road trip a few years ago, and the colours from the Wild Whisper Designs collection called ‘Strong and Free’ worked perfectly. Β The paper has a little bit of a gloss to it and the variety of designs and colous in the collection are very fun to work with! The matching scrapbooking cards would work really well for pocket page type scrapbooking but here I just tucked some of them behind my photo. WIld Whisper also offers some free cut files. Β The white leaves on my scrapbook layout were cut from file called ‘World’s Best’ and is…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout and a couple of cards created with Echo Park Paper Co.’sΒ Halloween Town collection. Β  I love scrapbooking photos from when my boys were little and cute. Β Now, as teenagers, they don’t dress up and go trick or treating any longer and I miss it. Β Ah well, at least I have memories. Here’s an image of the Halloween town collection – a great variety of Halloween colours and images – they are very versatile and very cute! Step by Step: I was in a triangular sort of mood, so I used a ruler and a pencil to quarter several sheets of patterned paper (just pencil a line from opposite corners and cut out your triangle). Β I stitched around the edges of each quarter with my Brother sewing machine. Β Machine stitching only takes a few minutes and it adds a nice touch to your…
