Yesturday I was sorting through and organizing my Creative Scrapbooker Magazine collection. I often have to pinch myself as it ‘s so Β hard to believe that it has already been over 11 years in publication. Such a dream come true! Feels like only yesturday. As I was sorting through years of magazines I definitely got squirreled looking at all the past front covers! What Will The OO’s Be? One of the things Creative Scrapbooker Magazine has become famous for over the last 11 years is how we change the oo’s, on the masthead, on each and every front cover to a funky design element. Β We have a ton of fun designing the oo’s to reflect the look and feel of that particular issue. Through out the years we have had a total of 48 different sets of 00’s!!! WOWZERS! Β Everything from stars to trains, to snowflakes to marbles to airplanes…

We are officially one month into summer! Many of you will have taken holidays already, some will be packing up to go and others may be enjoying a β€œstay-cation”. Do you include creative time with your holiday time? Do your kids join you in your craft room while they are home from school or is it an off limit β€œmom zone”? So, today’s craft room share is really unique! I am really thrilled that Linda Kuehl shared her space…it proves that you can eke out a perfect creative space when you set your mind to it! Check this out! I have a 3-car garage.Β  A double space and a single space.Β  I have partitioned the single space off and converted into my “Art Studio”.Β  I hung curtains from the ceiling all the way to the floor to keep out dust, etc.Β Β  I have an infra-red heater for the winter and…

Today on our blog, we welcome colouring artist Betty Hung who is sharing her thoughts on Chameleon Pens. I received a set of 22 Chameleon pens, plusΒ a box of 16 Chameleon Color Cards last week, and I am off this week. Lucky me! What better way to spend your vacation days than trying out new coloring products? After playing withΒ them for two days, I have to say I am in love with these Chameleon pens. Simply put, Chameleon pens are alcohol markers. They are designed so that youΒ canΒ achieve multiple tonesΒ from light to dark using one pen. These are alcohol based, so I wouldn’tΒ use them on my coloring books unless they are single-sided. It soaked through 70 lb card stock paper that I used to print my coloring cards, so make sure you put extra protection underneath to protect your desk while coloring. Each penΒ has 3 parts: a brush nib, a…

Hello everyone, Karen Ellis here. The Spring 2017 issue of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine will be showcasing projects featuring different Wax Crayon Resist techniques.Β Β  I completed a layout for this feature and wanted to show you how I created a crayon resist here on the blog. The first thing I did was create a flower doodle on a piece of white Super Stock (any watercolour weight paper would work) using plain ol’ wax crayons I picked up at the dollar store. Using a set of watercolours I had on hand, I washed the image with the paints and a wet water brush.Β  You’ll see right away that the wax will resist the colour.Β Β  If you’d like to see a cleaner resist, feel free to remove some of the moisture from the doodled image with a small piece of paper towel or lightly remove with a baby wipe. Once dry,…

Here we are at the middle of February already! Does anyone else feel 2017 is moving along pretty fast? I’m pretty confident our readers on the east coast may feel differently, the amount of snow that has fallen in areas is simply crazy! Here’s hoping someone else gets to shovel and YOU get to spend some quality snow days in your craft room! After lots of CREATIVATON 2017 shares and our BIG CHA prize giveaway, we are ready to share some more WHERE YOU CREATE spaces! This week, D’Arcy Henson shares her bright and organized space! Attached are photos of my craft room. I have two girls; Betty, 11 and Ruby, 8. We spend quite a bit of time in here doing all sorts of creative activities – painting, scrapbooking, DIYs, sewing and a little homework too. This space was originally intended for a formal dining room but we prefer…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and although I don’t normally create a lot of projects for Valentine’s Day, I wanted to create a few special cards for those special people in my life. Using the Butterfly Kisses Collection from Bo Bunny, some chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with new quarry stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage β€œLove” card. Make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I show you how to create the elements on my card as well as inspire you to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. From Bo Bunny’s Butterfly Kisses – Peaceful paper, cut a piece that measures 5 ¾” x 5 ¾”. Once the piece…

Hello! Kim here again for a Where You Create share! I am really happy to share today’s space with you because I think it represents a big percentage of people who scrapbook! We all love dedicated spaces with lots of great organizing ideas…but it’s just not the reality for everyone. I like to think of our creative space as aΒ vehicle…it doesn’t matter what you drive as long as it gets you to the destination! Our destination…completed layouts and stories told! Let’s take a peek into Angie Storlie’s creative space! I’m sure you will agree…it’s pretty SWEET! Hi Kim, I am a “kitchen table” scrapbooker who keeps my stuff in a big Rubbermaid tub and a 12×12 paper organizer; in the bottom of my closet.Β  While I would love to have a dedicated scrap space someday, there is something great about keeping my stash to a minimum and having it portable.Β …
