Hello Creative Scrapbookers! It’s been a while since we shared a creative space! I always find we have a lull over the fall and winter months. The days are shorter and the light not as good for picture taking, this seems to lead to less submissions! It’s also a time that we get busy with our carnivals, holidays and our Big 12 Twelve Days of Christmas give-always! All these things affect what we may be sharing on our blog. Brrrrrr! January 2108 has arrived! We are in a deep freeze once again here in Alberta; however, weather has been crazy all over! Storm “bombs” to the east, freezing rain and mudslides in California! WHERE YOU CREATE – craft with Susan Sturgis

This week I was able to find a bit of time to “play” in my craft room. It really is a space in my home that makes me happy. Sometimes after a busy day, I’ll just go in, sit and shuffle through my supplies. I can feel the stress of the day slowly melt away, the shuffling, touching and doodling have become an important part of my creative process. For most of my adult life, I have been fortunate enough to have a corner or room dedicated to crafting. This week Susan Sturgis is letting us peek into her craft room. I can only imagine her delight at having a dedicated scrapbooking space after raising eight [8!] children! An extra room! For the first time in my married life, I have an extra room. I am the mother of eight, wonderful children who have occupied all the bedrooms until April…

Well! I’m just a bit dumbfounded today! Next week trick or treaters will be knocking at my door and then in a flash…we’ll turn our calendars to November! …so here we are again, ready to visit another creative space, the last Where You Create of September! I feel we just rolled into this month and here we are ready to flip the calendar page again! Does anyone else feel this year is simply zipping along too fast? As I continue to share beautiful scrapbooking rooms, I need to spend a bit more time organizing my own space…it’s the never-ending dilemma of “not enough hours in the day”! Today we are re-visiting Sandra Dower’s creative space! Has anyone else felt a change to the air? My toes have been chilly in the mornings and warm in the afternoons [except today! …they are still cold!] September makes me want to organize my world again, add a bit of routine back to my life and get ready to “hunker” in for the colder months ahead. I must say, I am looking forward to a bit more time in my craft room! I have been sorting through my stash a bit, getting layout plans in my head and thinking about how to organize my stuff. This seems to be an ever-evolving system…two steps forward and one back! Who really knows? Here we are at the middle of February already! Does anyone else feel 2017 is moving along pretty fast? Hello! Kim here again for a Where You Create share! I am really happy to share today’s space with you because I think it represents a big percentage of people who scrapbook! We all love dedicated spaces with lots of great organizing ideas…but it’s just not the reality for everyone. I like to think of our creative space as a vehicle…it doesn’t matter what you drive as long as it gets you to the destination! Our destination…completed layouts and stories told!
