Friends – with Close to My Heart and Ranger

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a layout featuring some bright sunny colours and a couple of easy techniques featuring reinkers, gesso and cling wrap. Supplies Used: CTMH stamps, ink, reinkers, heart dies, cardstock and patterned paper, Ranger Industries gesso, stencil and glossy paper. I started by tinting some white gesso from Ranger with a few drops of Lemon reinker from Close to My Heart and smooshing it through a Dina Wakley large block stencil onto a piece of cardstock. I just wanted to take the edge off of the white, but if you wanted a more intense colour, just add more reinker to customize the gesso colour to whatever you want. While that was drying, I made some marbleized looking paper by spraying some ink onto a piece of crumpled cling wrap and pressing onto a piece of glossy paper. I let that dry too, then cut out…

Close to My Heart Sugar Rush – with guest blogger Vicki Wizniuk

Hello! Today I am sharing a single page layout I created using the new Sugar Rush Paper Packet from Close to My Heart! The main theme of Sugar Rush is donuts and ice cream, so it is full of super sweet patterned papers. Yummy! I added the title and embellishments to my layout using the Sugar Rush Complements, and Sugar Rush Dots. I also used a black journal pen to draw lines around the perimeter of the photo mats and on anything I wanted to have my eye drawn to on the page. Happy Happy with Close to my Heart

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. And took a lot of pictures. Ha! You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. A Wintery Layout with Close to my Heart

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout inspired by the monochromatic days of a northern Alberta winter. I used black and white because that’s pretty much the only colours I see right now when I look outside. Sigh. But soon the days will get longer and it won’t be long before the snow melts and the grass turns green again. Yes, I am an eternal optimist. I made myself a triangle template out of a scrap of paper and used it to cut the patterned paper and photos into large triangles which form the basis of the layout. The paper is the Uptown Fundamentals line from Close to My Heart. This paper (and other matching products) are a gorgeous and versatile black, white and gold colour and is available from the Annual Inspirations Catalogue from CTMH. Hello! Today I am sharing a mini album I created by repurposing the Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages from Close to My Heart! The Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages come in a package of 30 double-sided, loose printed pages, and 3-ring hole punched, measuring 8 3/8” x 6 7/8”. They are designed to be used in the Everyday Life albums so you can whip up a quick album, but I wanted to change it up a bit…. check out my 6”x6” mini album. I added embellishments to my mini album from the City Sidewalks Complements, and a few Clear Sparkles here and there, and added colour to some of the Clear Sparkles using green and red ShinHan Touch Twin markers. Jeepers Creepers from Close to my Heart – with guest blogger Vicki Wizniuk

Today I am sharing some items I made using the new Jeepers Creepers paper packet from Close To My Heart! I happened to have recently purchased a pencil that came in a little test tube style container from Staples, an office supply store. Part of the proceeds from these pencils go towards “Me To We” (formerly known as Free The Children), which was a program my son got involved in a couple of years ago through the middle school he was attending at the time. Anyways, back to a closer look at my little project… Cute, right? The test tube could be filled with little candies, too. And don’t you just love the little bats? I cut them out using Black Glitter Paper and the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, both from Close To My Heart. Hi there, Connie Nichol here with a scrapbook page featuring the CTMH Stuck on You stamps and matching thin cuts metal dies. The Stuck on You sets are available in the CTMH seasonal catalogue, but only until April 30, so grab them now before they are gone forever. The stamps are so darn cute and the matching dies make it so easy to create a whole forest of cacti. Use them to make a lovely card, or embellish a scrapbook layout. The cacti are perfect for accenting any photos from a desert location, and I was lucky enough to travel to Phoenix for a few days last year.
