Hi crafters, Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and I have a fun DIY Tutorial on Journaling with your Sizzix dies. Follow me through the process and try some of these fun techniques on your next project! Night Dreamer is my newest pages in my first art journal. I know I keep saying how much I am enjoying journaling because it’s true! It all started with my pages I gessoed black. At first this was a great idea, then I felt it was a bad idea… then I went with it and I was beyond happy with it. After the pages were painted all black I went back over with white gesso to create a hill effect and road Colouring with various Ranger green distress crayons for shading and lighting. The sky has shades of blue and violet. The cityscape is inked with Ranger Distress Oxide ink and run through my Creative…
May All Your Dreams Come True Card with Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Today I thought that I would share with you a theme of card that doesn’t get made or sent a lot. Sending a card for someone who has accomplished a dream of theirs is uncommon, but why not send a card to congratulate them for achieving it. Using the Winter Wishes Collection from Bo Bunny, a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and pairing them up with a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful “May All Your Dreams Come True” card. You’ll want to make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I will show you how to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. Using the Bunch of Flowers 3 die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, die cut five of the small flowers, five…
Being asked to join Jackie at Ranger’s CHA media release was pretty exciting until my alarm went off so early that morning. Tired eyes were soon open with excitement at all the fabulous new releases being shared at Ranger’s booth. They had four stations set up, and we got to spend about 20 minutes at each one with Ranger’s Signature Designers; Tim Holtz, Dina Wakley, Dyan Reaveley and Susan Lenart Kazmer…pretty easy to get just a tad star struck! Each proved to be down to earth and all had a wonderful sense of humour…made you love them that much more! First up was Tim Holtz. Lots of buzz at his table with the release of his Oxide Ink Pads, new Distress Crayons sets, Crayon Tin storage, 1 oz. size of Collage Medium, storage jars and Woodgrain Cardstock. The new Oxide Ink Pads are the next generation of Distress Inks, combining…
Birthday Fishes Card by Kerry Engel A colleague at work was having a special birthday so I decided to make an extra large card that would accommodate numerous greeting from staff (it measured 6×12). I’ve been using my Ranger distress inks to make watercolor backgrounds for my hand lettering and thought it would make a great background for the fish stamps from Heartfelt Creations. I got a bit carried away making fish one Saturday night but it resulted in a very impressive shoal. According to Wikipedia “any group of fish that stay together for social reasons are shoaling and if the group is swimming in the same direction in a coordinated manner, they are schooling”. My fish were swimming in every direction and they looked really social so I’m going with shoal. When I was done I asked my husband, “now what do I do? How am I going to…
Sweet & Spooky Halloween Layouts by Karla Yungwirth Hi there crafty friends! Karla here today from Creative Love Affair, and I am so so super excited to be a Guest Designer today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! It is an amazing honor! Today, I’m sharing some Halloween photos I’ve scrapbooked from a few years ago using the Bo Bunny Wonderfully Wicked Collection. It definitely is wonderful and spooky, and so fun to play with! These pictures were taken when my now 9 year old daughter, Amie, was 4 – and this year, before we even looked at these pics, my now 4 year old, Erica, decided to wear this exact costume – which her cousin had worn when she was this age! Now, to find those photos! That’s one of the reasons I love scrapbooking – looking through older pictures, remembering, and getting family talking about what they remember.…
Happy first day of Fall! Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and I’m excited to share my most favorite time of year… Fall! I just got all my Sizzix dies to play with and I went for the Dashing Deer first knowing I was somehow going to create a fall project. Well I usually have some idea of what I may create. This one needed lots of leaves and burlap. Onto the fun! I decided to layer up the antlers with the mat board cut 2 times and a layer of Sizzix Leather Paper. I cut the head and upper body with some scrap Core paper. For the leaves I made my own paper using watercolor paper. I grabbed my Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, carved pumpkin and fossilized amber. Spritz and spray. Apply matching distress inks to intensify the colour. Now that the paper is dry I can cut…
