Hello from Michelle Stewart! I’m a consultant with Close to My Heart all the way from Halifax, Nova Scotia and I’m so happy to be a guest blogger for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Today I want to share with you some cards I’ve made using 3 of the paper collections that are still currently available in our Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog. This first card is created using the Dreamin’ Big Paper, and I love the color pallet for this paper collection. I’ve used the Dreamin’ Big cardmaking stamp for this card and fussy cut leaving a white boarder. I didn’t have sequins in the colour I wanted, but no big deal. Just grab some alcohol markers and colour some silver ones to match. For this next card, I used this pale pink patterned paper from the Hello Lovely collection. I wanted to create a soft feminine card so I used the…
Hello! Today I am sharing a mini album I created by repurposing the Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages from Close to My Heart! The Happy, Happy Christmas My Crush pages come in a package of 30 double-sided, loose printed pages, and 3-ring hole punched, measuring 8 3/8” x 6 7/8”. They are designed to be used in the Everyday Life albums so you can whip up a quick album, but I wanted to change it up a bit…. check out my 6”x6” mini album. I added embellishments to my mini album from the City Sidewalks Complements, and a few Clear Sparkles here and there, and added colour to some of the Clear Sparkles using green and red ShinHan Touch Twin markers. What a fun way to create something completely unique! Well, that is it for me for today. If you don’t have a copy of the new Close To…
Ghoultide Greetings Mixed Media Wall Hanging By Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Halloween right around the corner I thought that it would be fun to share with you how to create a mixed media wall hanging piece as a perfect home décor addition to any spot in your home. Using stamps, charms and embossing powders from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and pairing them with Ranger Ink products, I was able to create a fun piece. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate it in the comforts of your own home. To start, you’ll need a 5 ½” x 5 ½” wood piece. I managed to pick one up that was already meant to be used as a wall hanging. Once you have your piece in front of you, you’ll need to apply 2…
Today we are glad to welcome guest blogger Vicki Wizniuk from British Columbia, Canada to share some Close to my Heart goodness! I am so excited to share with all of you some fabulous quick cards I created using just some of new products just released this month from Close To My Heart! I got to play with their new Thin Cuts dies, as well as papers from their new Rustic Home Fundamentals. And I can’t forget to mention that they have a new Color of the Year, this year it is Sea Glass! All of these items truly make my heart happy. ♥ Here’s a better look at the cards individually… I seriously love those cards. But I can’t let you go that quickly… I have one more beauty of a project using basically the same supplies, but I added a few additional items. I made this lovely…
While my layouts are usually less is more, and not full of patterned paper, I wanted to play around with paper on this one…I of course had to add a few dies as accents on my layout. This picture of my kids is from when they went zip lining in Maui a few years back. Its one of those few times where they are both looking at you, smiling, and not making weird or funny faces…you know how it is sometimes. 😉 I started with a neutral base for my layout, and thought I would add some fun patterned paper. I hand cut a few tag shapes from the patterns and layered them next to my photo. Using my Spellbinders Prizm die cutting and embossing machine I used varying elements from the Spellbinders S2-216 Die D-Lights Amused 1 and Spellbinders S2-227 Die D-Lites Springtime sets to create little accents in the…
Hi everyone! My name is Sherry Roth and am honoured to be here as a guest blogger today to share with you my love for Project Life. First of all I need to start by saying that Project Life has changed my way of thinking about scrapbooking, the way I scrapbook and how much I scrapbook – all for the better! I am so passionate about this type of memory keeping, that I could probably write a book – but I will keep this short and sweet. One of the great things about memory keeping is that there’s no right or wrong way to do it. You can make it work for YOU and that’s what I’ve done with the Project Life system of memory keeping. Each month begins with a calendar page and then includes a combination of pocket pages and traditional pages to record the photos and events…

I’m excited to be a guest blogger today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The wonderful ladies at the magazine asked if I wanted to guest blog for them and I couldn’t pass up this amazing opportunity.
