6X6 Rubber Stamps for the Win! with Cathie Allan

Hello everyone! Cathie Allan here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Creating a “notecard” to remember is so easy when you have a great 6X6 background stamp. Impression Obsession’s collection of 6X6, red rubber (for that perfect image) rubber stamps is massive. With over 280, deeply etched, full of amazing detail, 6X6 rubber stamps to choose from you will be in “stamp heaven” for a long, long time. For this blog post I am focusing on the “Pixel Daisy” image. Because I was wanting to create a number of “any occasion I need them for” cards, I kept the process super simple and fast. Yes, pigment ink is my choice for ink for “oh, so many versatile reasons”. Water-coloured Missing You Pig Time Card

Do you LOVE all the water-coloured paintings you see across the internet? If you shy away because you think it’s too hard, think again! As paper crafters we have so many tools already in our stash to quickly and easily achieve gorgeous, water-coloured art! For this adorable card I stamped my Impression Obsession pig stamp onto some water colour paper using Ranger Archival Ink. I like to use a light soft colour, this allows me to see all the lines but it’s not so stark to add too much contrast to my end project. Next, I used my Simon Hurley dye inks to colour the image. Tap your ink pad on a non-stick surface, spray with water and now you have have everything you need to paint. Spritz your stamped image with some water. This allows the colours picked up by your brush to flow onto the paper, creating that dreamy,…

Flock Owl Card designed by Kerry Engel

Hello everyone! It’s Kerry Engel, here today to share with you an adorable card that is just begging to be touched. Between the embossing, stenciling and flocking this card is full of texture-therapy; for the maker and the receiver. Cards for any occasion are my favorite ones to keep in my stash. This cute little die-cut owl could be used on a multitude of occasions and I find his tummy is just the right size to hold a sentiment. My favourite trick when putting together more detailed die cut items is to use 3D Foam Squares under key areas. I used the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to raise my owl’s head up and away from his body. Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets cut like butter and emboss like a boss. Gnome Stamps for Christmas by Impression Obsession

Gnomes are HOT this holiday season! And they should be – they are smile makers! Kerry Engel was busy in her craft room playing with some Gnome themed stamps by Impression Obsession. Birch Logs & Twigs Die Set by Impression Obsession

Kerry Engel has been a little Christmas Elf creating Christmas cards for friends and families. Recently she was playing with the Impression Obsession Birch Logs & Twigs die set. Look at this beautiful card that she designed. Here are a few details of all those glorious layers. She adhered everything down using Glue Dots Glue Lines. Perfect for those birch logs. The Merry Christmas sentiment is also an Impression Obsession die. GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS! It’s a little piece of a winter wonderland! Quilted Poinsettia Die Frame by Impression Obsession

Our design team member, Kerry Engel has been playing with the Quilted Poinsettia Frame Die by Impression Obsession and I am loving the results. Here is one of her creations. She cut the die out onto our heavyweight Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock. The base of the card was created using some Therm O Web Gina K. Designs cardstock. Kerry Colored the quilted poinsettia frame die using Amy Tangerine watercolors by American Crafts. For the inside of the card, Kerry used another Impression Obsession die and colored it using Ranger Wendy Vecchi embossing powder. Kerry adhered everything to her card using Therm O Web iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive and Sticky Strip Runner. The results are GORGEOUS! Want to see more of Kerry’s creations? Elegant Feathers Stamp Set by Impression Obsession

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Loge here with a little glance at what is on my scrap table this week! I’ve not spent a lot of creative time making cards or scrapbooking lately; I’ve been creating in other ways, exploring poured acrylic painting, working in different kinds of planners, creating messy art lessons for second graders and playing with the Impression Obsession Elegant Feathers stamp set. My oldest niece graduated in June, so I took that as an opportunity to get back to my first love and create a grad card for her. I love how it turned out- it is not at all traditional but I think it is encouraging for a lovely young woman about to head out into the adult world. With everything laying out on my scrapbook table, I just kept going and created this layout using an old photo. I stamped out a bunch of feathers…
