Paintball Crazy: Splatter Layout and Card by Tracy McLennon Mixed Media, paints, sprays and mists are all the rage these days. I wanted to create a layout using sprays in a little different way. As I was experimenting and playing around with drips, splats and sprays I found exactly the look that I wanted for a very specific photo. “Confession: My father is an outdoorsman, and I learned to shoot as a child. I’m not into hunting. But…shoot people with PAINT?? Heck YES!”…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a simple scrapbook layout featuring a beautiful patterned paper line from Creative Memories stamps and digital cut files from Quietfire Design cut with the Sizzix Eclips 2. and some stitching with the Brother Sewing Machine The scrapbooking process is a little different for everyone, but when I start with a Quietfire Design quote stamp, I am totally inspired by the quote and go from there.  I looked through my photos and found this one of my friend Jackie with a massive hydrangea bush from 2013 that I thought would do the quote justice.  Next, I selected the beautiful Creative Memories Watercolour Paper Pack and Watercolor Love Embellishments to form the basis of the layout.  The soft colours and patterns are just beautiful.  Although romantic, the papers work for a lot of other photographs too. Lastly, I considered how I might accent the page with…

Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here! Today I am working with the La Vie En Rose collection from Close To My Heart. This collection has some great black and white patterns with hints of pinks and reds. They are so versatile! I chose to work with a photo of myself, from a little while ago. It just happened to be in black and white which is perfect with this collection. But remember, that is an option you can ALWAYS choose with your own photos when printing. That way you are never restricted by the colours in your photos when picking patterned papers to craft with. Project Recipe:  Close To My Heart- La Vie En Rose Collection- patterned papers, stamps and flair Dye Ink- Fern, Pomegranate and Black 3D Foam Dots from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Circle Punches- 1.75”, 1.5” and 1.25” Coloured Pencils Enamel Dots My first step was…

Today on our blog, Kerry Engel is sharing some wonderful projects and techniques using Magenta Nuance Powders. I’m one of those lettering people. Always playing with pens, practicing my down strokes, experimenting with different mediums. I’ve been playing with Nuance Powders since Christy Riopel introduced me to them at the Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton last September. It’s a little embarrassing how happy the Nuance Powders make me. There are many ways to use the Nuance powders. Lately, I’m enjoying the unpredictable magic of tapping them onto pre-watered areas. It reminds me of the invisible messages we used to create with lemon juice when I was a kid. I’m using watercolour paper by Canson, cut to 4×6 size, Nuance ink and water. That’s it! 1. Choose a harmonious color family of ink. I used three colors. Poke a hole in the lids of your powders so that you can…
