Happy Mother’s Day!Β We hope you have time this weekend to do take some photos, do some scrapbooking and record those wonderful family memories. The May sketch is up in our Sketchy Gallery ready to inspire you! I was lucky enough to spend some time scrapbooking on National Scrapbook Day and designed 2 layouts based on this sketch.Β The first one features the Simple Stories “Heart” collection. I did a little brush lettering with the Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip brush pen to add “you have my” to the title. For the second layout, I rotated the sketch a quarter turn clockwise and used Fancy Pants Designs “Me-Ology” collection.Β I’m trying to scrapbook more photos of myself this year, and the ME-ology line is perfect! I used the Tombow Monotwin to doodle on the layout and add some interest with black lines.Β The Monotwin has 2 tips of different sizes…

Hello Everyone!Β I have been having a lot of fun lately with the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons from Ranger. You might know that I’ve been slightly obsessed with watercolour and creating watercolour effects with different products.Β So I used the Distress Crayons to design this Mother’s Day card. Here are the Tim Holtz (Ranger) supplies I started with to create the stamped flowers: Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Waterbrush, Collage Brush, Distress Collage Medium, the Distress Crayon (Seedless Preserves). I brushed the Distress Collage Medium on the Distress Watercolor paper using the Collage Brush.Β Just remember to clean your brush well right after and don’t let the medium dry on it. Let the medium on the paper dry completely and then scribble some distress crayon colour onto it. Why did I add the medium first? I find the Distress Crayons move better and dissolve into a watercolour more easily, but…
Happy Tuesday! Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! Life In Color, what a great name for a collection…nicely played Simple Stories. That being said, I love the colours in this collection, so vibrant and rich. I have always loved earthy tones, I think it comes from the fact that I have a red tinge to my hair…pinks and purples just do not work for me. But since Sean and his beautiful girls came into my life, they have brought me an entire rainbow of colours I can now craft with! Now I’m living a Life In Color! Hello! Kim here, just logging in to share my take on this month’s Sketchy Challenge! This month, for the most part, I stayed true to Kelly’s sketch. As always, a sketch is a fun place to start creating from…especially if your mojo is on hiatus. I pulled out my “A Year to Remember” collection from Creative Memories, and had fun going through the many different embellishments to find the ones that I felt worked best. I really like the colour palette of this collection, and look forward to pulling it out again. Here’s a detail shot of the banners. I cut between each banner, so I could add some texture and movement to it. I also curled and distressed the edge of some of my paper…I love texture and layers, but still need my pages to be flat enough to fit in my albums. Another layer I have added but…
