January is here, which meansΒ it’s time for another free colouring card from our illustrator and designer Betty Hung. This month Betty’s card celebrates 2017 as the Year of the Rooster. Betty used Tombow Dual Brush Pens to color and achieved beautiful gradient effects with her colouring techniques. Here is what the card looks like when you download and print it. It is sized approximately 5″ x 10″ and you can print it on regular copy paper or heavyweight cardstock. The paper choice for printing depends on which products youΒ use to colour. Hi everyone, Kim here today. I just finished working on a layout using October 2016, sketchy challenge. If my memory is goodβ¦that means I have used every sketch from 2016! Bring on 12 more for 2017! I LOVE them. Here is Octoberβs sketch; my starting point. My completed layout below makes me smile, I love the Simple Stories product I usedβ¦Itβs whimsical and sweet. My layout started like many of mine do, on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Magazineβs Superstock. I love to build up from the basics and seem to be drawn to the contrast the white gives me when playing with other products! My first layer was created using a TCW stencil and Clearsnapβs Colorbox chalk inks. From there, I positioned my picture. I will usually just add adhesive to the center back of my photo leaving the edges free to slip embellishments under. I added several little…

Who’s with me?? The warm earthy tones, that work with practically any type of photo. My layout today, focuses on one special photo. So I created a base of lots of layers of pattern and texture to showcase that special photo. Along the top border of patterned paper I added a line of coordinating decorative brads, for some additional texture. I added some simple splatters of my Clearsnap ColorBox Spritzers to the bottom left hand corner of my layered cardstock base. Do you LOVE to use ribbon on your layouts…
Hey everyone, Nicole over at Nicole Wright Designs and I am sharing a creative challenge I faceβ¦ a simple clean card.Β I always want to throw all my inks, stamps, die cuts, stencils and embellishments at them.Β This card is so clean and basic thereβs barely even a tutorial.Β That is great if you want to make some quick holiday cards or gift tags.Β Take the stress out of the holidays and keep it simple. The key to making these quick with a little bling are the Ranger Metal Foil Tape Sheets. I cut the Woodlands, Holiday Words Block and Holiday Words Script Thinlits with the Foil Sheets. Using the Magnetic Platorm for the Thinlits makes cutting easy as the dies wonβt shift. 2. Simply position and stick the Woodlands Metal Foil Tree onto your cardstock. No glue required. Mount your treed layerΒ with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam…
Christmas Advent Calendar – Guest Post with Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Christmas is right around the corner and I thought that it would be fun to share with you this fabulous Advent Calendar kit from Southern Ridge Trading Company. Using the advent calendar kit as well as adding some other chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage Advent Calendar. Youβll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. To start, youβll need the top piece of the advent calendar, which is the piece that has the doors on it. Cover the entire surface with Victorian Velvet…
Hi everyone! It’s Kelly here, feeling a bit panicked now that Christmas is quickly approaching. I always make a handful of cards at this time of year for those special people in my life (and when you receive one, I guess you will now know you’re ‘special’) Since I am totally obsessed with lettering and watercolors, I thought I would combine the two for my card. This is an easy no-fail design that anyone can replicate. The new Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pensΒ distributed by Canuck Crafts should be on your wish list. They come in gorgeous colour sets and are water-based AND have glitter! How perfect for a Christmas card! I actually used a set called “Winter Warmers” with the red, blue and green colours, plus a black Sparkle pen for the hanging strings and writing “Be Merry.” The paper that works beautifully for this technique is the Spectrum Aqua…
