Check out this absolutely GORGEOUS layout designed by Lori Domes. Lori created the background of her layout using a stencil and Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops. She spread the Crystal Drops using a spatula and worked quickly as the Crystal Drops have a short drying period. The result is a beautiful, glossy, textured, bubbly background! (That’s a lot of adjectives:)) AWESOME! Lori’s layout was featured in the Spring 2022 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Be sure to pick up your copy today and BRING ON SPRING! Kim Gowdy was very buys this week creating spooky Halloween cards. One of her favourite things to do and you can tell! Check out this card she designed. How gorgeous! Kim designed the background using one of her gel mono prints she created using the Ranger Gel Printing Plate AND Ranger Dina Wakley Media Acrylic Paint. She stamped the Stampers Anonymous stamps on Deli Paper. Using Ranger Archival Ink. She then cut out the pumpkins and with hat and adhered them to the mono print using Ranger Dina Wakley Media Matte Gel Medium. Using Zebra Doodler’z Gel Glitter Pens she outlined all the stamped images. This made the images glitter! You can see it here. Next, for some more added fun Kim Added Tonic Studios Nuvo Glow Drops. When the lights turn off these little drops glow! How fun is that! Finally Kim, used her Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Guillotine Cutter…
Size does matter, sometimes! There are times I want to create smaller than a 12×12. Not because it’s easier, because it works different creative muscles. I pulled out my planner from Elizabeth Craft Designs and used the July 2021 Sketchy Challenge as a starting point. When I work in the planner, I am always aware of what will ‘split’ down the center. Sometimes I will let photos or ephemera flow across the center if it doesn’t cut in an awkward place, i.e. splitting a person in half would not be good! Trust your brain…it will know right from wrong! Thanks for checking into my post! If you haven’t joined our Sketchy Challenge on Facebook, we welcome you! ~Kim

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The Kraft Slimline Toner Card Fronts from Therm O Web are the perfect substrate for some good old grunge. The kraft paper withstands embossing, folding, and inking like a champ. The Therm O Web Deco Foil Transfer Sheets in Opal is mysteriously different depending on how it was used. On the black toner front, it is moody but when used with the Therm O Web iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco, it looks like pearls. Layers of collaging help to create the perfect mixed media card. Here are the steps to create this gorgeous card! FOIL AND EMBOSS The top layer of this card was made by adding Therm O Web Deco Foil Transfer Sheets in Opal to a Slimline Foil Toner Card Front and then running the card through an embossing folder. I used the Bouquet…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of cards made with the Stitched Flower Bouquet set and other assorted Impression Obsession dies and stamps. Isn’t that Nutella stamp a hoot? 🙂 There are 14 dies in the Stitched Bouquet set. Mix and match them with other dies such as the pinked edge frame for a very versatile and elegant look. I suppose you could snip the dies apart, but I find that it’s easier not to lose the little guys if you keep the die set in one piece. Also, if you cut a bunch of flowers at one time, use them to make multiple cards. For this card, I cut my flower bouquet out of specialty paper from Tonic Studios. The mirror and glitter cardstock is so pretty and it just makes the card so much fancier! Thanks for stopping by today! Hopefully, you are inspired to go…
If you are like me and find watching embossing powder change to liquid as it heats up oddly satisfying, this is the technique for you! To create this card first cut out a base from Ranger Simon Hurley Create Stark White Cardstock. I used an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangle die. On a second piece of white cardstock, emboss the brick wall using a Tim Holtz Embossing Folder. Once embossed cut out the brickwall using a slightly small stitched rectangle die from the same Elizabeth Craft Designs die set. Adhere the brick wall in the center of the larger stitched rectangle using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Squares. Set aside. Next, on a piece of white cardstock, lay a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stencil down. Apply Ranger Simon Hurley Create ink with a Mini Blending Tool. Lift up the stencil and gently spread the ink filling in the white spots.…
Using watercolor pencils and a waterbrush is the absolute easiest way to color detailed stamped images. Adding shading and highlights using this technique has never been easier! I like to use a fine tip waterbrush pen and I dip it in water rather than filling it up with water. So really you could use a fine tip paintbrush instead! Here is the card I created. I am SERIOUSLY in love with this stamp set from Heartfelt Creations. Cottages are super trendy right now in the crafting world and this is one of my favourite designs. To create this card… Using the Heartfelt Creations Countryside Cottage stamp, stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper. I used Ranger Archival ink so that the ink doesn’t run when I add water. Stamp the image using a stamping platform. Do not remove the stamp from the platform as you will re-stamp the image once…
